On this day, April 14, 110 years ago in 1912, the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean and made history. It's funny to think they want to reuse the name on a new ship. You have to wonder... would it be cursed, or would it be just another large ocean liner? Would you dare find out by getting tickets for the maiden voyage? Think of all those people who lost their lives that day and remain buried at sea in their underwater tomb. I say leave the name alone in their memory.

It's been 6 years since Sal passed away. I still miss him like crazy. He never even got a chance to see the book I told him I was making about the Shanley Hotel. I know he would have loved it.

Remembering Rosie on the 110th anniversary of her death.

On this day in 1911, a beautiful little 3-year-old girl named Roseanne "Rosie" Greger lost her life when she slipped and fell into a well of the Hoornbeek Farm, while trying to get a drink of water. The well, which is now sealed, is across the street from the Shanley Hotel, where she resided with her family at the time. Today, she is one of the ghosts that haunt the hotel. I have recordings of her voice acquired during EVP sessions, and I used her as a character in my book, "A Night at the Shanley Hotel." I can only hope she finds peace because she was taken far too young. Rest in peace, baby girl.

Pripyat Central Square. Not my photo, but it is a great image. Yesterday was the anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. Many lost their lives and many more lost their homes. An entire abandoned town. I would love to go here someday. They actually do tours now.
