Surmount New York is investing directly into the leaders of tomorrow through its exceptional Resource Fellows Program. This initiative gives high school students hands-on experience in leadership, public speaking, teamwork, civic engagement, and community outreach while building confidence and professional skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

The combination of mentorship, workshops, real-world exposure, and financial support through a completion stipend shows a true commitment to youth development and equity. This is the kind of programming communities need more of — intentional, empowering, and transformative.

Program Components

The Surmount New York Resource Fellows Program includes:

* 10-week Fall 2026 cohort (September–December)
* Interactive hybrid learning model
* Online sessions
* Monthly in-person workshops
* Leadership development
* Public speaking training
* Teamwork and collaboration skills
* Resume and college application experience
* Exposure to nonprofits and civic systems
* Community leadership development
* Opportunities to present to elected officials
* Community outreach training

Congratulations to the incredible interns who successfully completed the PBHF x The Clark Center Residency and Pamela’s Big Heart Foundation Inc Leadership Internship Track!

Today we celebrate Gio, Bessy, Rehamma, Jonathan, Genesis, Alexandria, MaCayla, and Ahmadou for their commitment, growth, leadership, and perseverance throughout this transformative experience. Each intern showed up with purpose, embraced new challenges, and demonstrated what it means to lead with both heart and integrity.

Through this residency and leadership journey, you gained hands-on experience, strengthened your communication and professional skills, deepened your understanding of community impact, and grew into more confident versions of yourselves. Your willingness to learn, serve, and step outside of your comfort zones has been inspiring to witness.

✨ Leadership Track Completion Spotlight – Rehamma Fleuricot ✨

Today we proudly celebrate Rehamma Fleuricot on the successful completion of the PBHF x Clark Center Residency Leadership Track Internship Program.

Throughout her final capstone reflection, Rehamma demonstrated depth, intentionality, and a growing understanding of what it truly means to lead with purpose and compassion. Her reflections showed that leadership is not defined by titles alone, but by the ability to uplift, encourage, and positively influence the people and communities around us.

Her capstone highlighted:
• Emotional intelligence and self-awareness

Today we proudly recognize Giovanni Cobelli on the successful completion of the PBHF x Clark Center Residency Leadership Track Internship Program.

Throughout his final capstone reflection, Giovanni demonstrated meaningful growth in his understanding of leadership, community action, and youth engagement. Entering the program with a foundation in physical education and coaching, he expanded his perspective to understand that true leadership is rooted not only in instruction, but also in empathy, collaboration, and creating safe spaces for others to grow.

His reflections highlighted:
