May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The Yonkers Public Library has joined forces with the Asian Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA) to provide resources to combat racism.

Please see the post below for information included a reading list curated by YPL.

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. It is a month to acknowledge the contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to the United States and to celebrate their cultures.

The Yonkers Public Library is in solidarity with the Asian Pacific Americans Librarians Association’s (APALA) statement condemning racism and acts of violence towards Asians. The APALA has provided resources to combat racism.

AsianPacificHeritage.gov has historical and cultural information about Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders on their website. There are also virtual art exhibitions.

The Yonkers Public Library has curated a book list for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. You can place these items on hold and pick them up at any branch of the Yonkers Public Library. https://www.ypl.org/asian-american-and-pacific-islander-heritage-month/
