MLK DAY OF SERVICE PROJECT:

Honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., CLUSTER partnered with the New York State Dispute Resolution Association (NYSDRA) and AmeriCorps for a day of service, assembling “Dream Kits” for youth. AmeriCorps service members and several volunteers from CLUSTER’s Teens Eager to Engage in Non-Violent Solutions (T.E.E.N.S.) program packed 100 kits that included journals, affirmations, and other materials to inspire personal reflection and community-building. The Dream Kits were then distributed to youth in Yonkers and Peekskill. When asked about the project, one participant explained “I feel like the service made a really big impact for some of the teens. In terms of just having awareness of the things going on in the world and being able to do something about it even if it’s just making kits.” Another participant reflected “The project brought youth together, building a safe space where we can work as a community and bring us closer to having unity.”

T.E.E.N.S. CIRCLES AT WESTHAB

During their Winter break, thirteen members of CLUSTER’s T.E.E.N.S. program (Teens Eager to Engage in Non-Violent Solutions) led circles with young people at Westhab’s Dayspring Program in Yonkers. Five different circles, with youth ages 5-12, focused on topics such as kindness, respecting all people, and caring for community. The circles were an extension of CLUSTER’s ongoing work with the New York State Division of Human Rights Hate and Bias Prevention Unit, working to prevent hate and bias by engaging people of all ages in dialogue and community-building.

EVENT CANCELLATION NOTICE:

With continued winter weather concerns South Presbyterian leadership and CLUSTER leadership have made the decision to cancel the Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast scheduled for this Sunday, February 22nd.

All are welcome to attend the church service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., which will be dedicated to CLUSTER’s Summer Day Camp.

PLEASE NOTE: MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. BREAKFAST HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2026.

Due to the extremely cold temperatures and potential for snow, South Presbyterian leadership and CLUSTER leadership decided to move the brunch into late February. This new date also aligns beautifully with Black History Month and our shared commitment to social justice.

RSVPs have been extended, and we welcome anyone who would still like to join us!

We look forward to gathering with you for a delicious home-cooked brunch as we celebrate community and support CLUSTER's children and social justice initiatives.
