As Saturday gets closer, I wanted to share something a little more personal.

I grew up here in the High Desert in the 90s. Back then, there weren't a lot of things for kids to do. Most of us made our own fun, wandered the neighborhood, rode horses or dirt bikes until sunset, and hoped something exciting would happen on the weekend.

A lot has changed since then.

Today, families are busy. Money is tight. Everything seems expensive. Sometimes it feels like there just aren't enough places where kids can simply be kids and parents can relax without worrying about spending a fortune.

That's one of the reasons I started creating these events.

Saturday isn't just about vendors, games, crafts, or activities. Those things are wonderful, but they're not the real purpose.

The purpose is giving families a place to gather.

A place where kids can laugh, play, explore, make memories, and spend a summer day outside.

A place where parents can take a breath, enjoy the community around them, and know they don't have to drive hours away or spend hundreds of dollars to have a good day with their family.

That's what Serendipity6 has always been about.

Sharing is caring. Community matters. Childhood matters.

This event was built for YOU. For your children. For your neighbors. For the families who just need a few hours of joy, connection, and fun.

Yes, we'll have amazing vendors. Yes, there will be things to see and do. But I hope people see that it's about something bigger than shopping.

It's about creating the kind of memories that stay with a child for years.

So if you've ever wondered why I put so much time, energy, and heart into these events, this is why.

I hope you'll join us on Saturday, June 6th. Bring the kids. Bring a friend. Come spend a little time with your community.

🌻 Every event we host through Serendipity6 is made possible through the generosity of our community and our own personal contributions.

Unlike large organizations with major funding, we currently self-fund our activities, supplies, games, crafts, gardening projects, and community events. We do it because we believe every child and family deserves opportunities to learn, play, create, and connect—regardless of their circumstances.

What we wish to create and bring to our community 🌟

🌿 Welcome to Calico Acres Ranch and The Outpost – The Heart of Serendipity6

Imagine a place where families can spend the day playing, learning, eating fresh food, and connecting — without breaking the bank. A place built from repurposed materials, powered by creativity, and rooted in community.

That’s The Outpost.

At the center is our **Market & Swap Meet** — the heartbeat of the park. Handmade goods. Fresh food. Leave-a-jacket, take-a-jacket. Skill sharing. Real connection.

From there, the adventure spreads out:

🎪 **Kid Village & Midway**
Carnival-style games, a play post office, pedal roads, a giant tree bookstore, and a kids’ Mart where tokens turn into treasures.

🌊 **The Oasis Playground**
Nature play, climbing rocks, loose parts, gem mining, and a pond for exploring. Hidden fairy villages. Dinosaur scenes. Sparkles tucked into garden paths for curious eyes.

🐐 **Animals & Farm Life**
Baby animal petting spots, goats and chickens being their hilarious selves, pig races at dinner time, horse trails around the perimeter, and cart rides through the park.

🌱 **Gardens That Feed Everything**
Our landscaping *is* our food system. The gardens feed the animals and supply our fresh restaurant — where kids and adults can learn real front-of-house and back-of-house skills.

🎭 **Outdoor Stage**
Tree stump seating, live shows, storytelling, talent nights, strawberry pink popcorn, lemonade stands — community gathering at its best.

⛺ **Cabins & Eco Miner Village**
Overnight camps. Life skills in action. Cleaning, cooking, caretaking, teamwork.
We’ll also create transitional pop-up housing where people can receive food, showers, medical support, and give back through meaningful tasks.

🌿 **Church of Sustainable Conception**
A spiritual space centered on care for the Earth, reflection, and shared values.

The entire Outpost carries a reclaimed, post-apocalyptic creativity vibe — built from surplus, salvaged, and repurposed materials — but the feeling is pure warmth. Togetherness. Ingenuity. Hope.

Families can come for the day, eat fresh meals, explore, play, and learn — all at an accessible price point.

This isn’t just a park.
It’s a living, breathing ecosystem of skills, joy, second chances, and shared purpose.
