The Nemours Wildlife Foundation

The Nemours Wildlife Foundation The Nemours Wildlife Foundation was established in 1995 at Nemours Plantation, in the heart of the ACE Basin, to advance natural resources conservation.

The Nemours Wildlife Foundation was established by the late Eugene duPont III for the purpose of overseeing the stewardship of his 9,800 acre Nemours Plantation. A guiding principle of this stewardship is to advance natural resources conservation by developing, using and demonstrating best management practices for wildlife and their habitats. Nemours Plantation is ideally positioned to achieve Mr.

duPont's vision by its location within the ecologically diverse ACE Basin, a protected area of South Carolina's Coastal Plain. The ACE Basin ecosystem extends from Edisto Beach inland to Orangeburg and Bamberg, covering a million acres in the drainage area of the Ashepoo, Combahee, and Edisto rivers from which it gets its name. The Ace Basin has been listed as "one the last great places" on earth because of its rich, intact natural resources and it serves as a national model for land conservation. The vision of the Nemours Wildlife Foundation is to lead scientific investigations that generate the knowledge needed to conserve our natural resources and heritage while serving as an exemplary steward of both.
