🍂🌿 Fall Farm & Garden Tour Featured Stop: Lucky Star Farm 🌿🍂

Our next stop on the Marion County Fall Farm & Garden Tour takes us near the historic town of Rush to Lucky Star Farm, where gardening is about much more than simply growing food.

At Lucky Star Farm, the goal is to work with the rhythms of nature, building healthy soil and creating thoughtful, sustainable ways to grow, harvest, preserve, consume, and share food.

🌱 Visitors will have an opportunity to explore a farm where permaculture, natural design, organic gardening, and environmental awareness come together. It's a great chance to see how these principles can be woven into practical food production and preservation systems, and perhaps take home a few ideas for your own garden!

One of the things we're looking forward to most about the Fall Farm & Garden Tour is showcasing the many different ways Marion County residents grow and work with the land. Lucky Star Farm is a wonderful example of gardening with purpose, creativity, and an eye toward sustainability.

There will be a few Fourth of July Firework Celebrations in Marion County to celebrate 250 years of Independence. They are as follows:

FRIDAY, JULY 3RD – FLIPPIN FIREWORKS FESTIVAL

HICKEY PARK IN FLIPPIN. A full day of fun, food, demonstrations, and live entertainment, concluding with a spectacular fireworks display. Featured musical entertainment provided by Ken Palmer. Entertainment will begin at 6:30 pm and conclude prior to the fireworks show.

SATURDAY, JULY 4TH – INDEPENDENCE DAY FIREWORKS SHOW ON BULL SHOALS LAKE

Fireworks at dark!! Bring your water, lawn chairs and picnic blankets! (Probably bug spray too!) Best places to see the show are at Gaston's Visitor Center Overlook at the Bull Shoals Dam, on the Lakeview side of the Dam at the park, and at the bottom of the Dam. If you have a boat, then anchor out on the lake or park on the White River to get a nice view. The show will begin after dark.
Keep in mind that we expect an increased number of spectators this year and there will be a lot of traffic. Be patient, courteous and understanding. You may have to walk a good ways to get a good place to sit as well. It will be well worth it! We all look forward to seeing the community gather!

Calling all Marion County 4-H members! This month’s Take Home Project Kit is all about creativity and preparing for the Marion County Fair.

Each kit includes a variety of craft materials for you to create a unique handmade project to enter in the fair. Whether you love painting, decorating, building, or designing, this is your chance to let your imagination shine!
