Calling artists for our Annual Member's Show

Open to all members your art may be dropped off at the YSAC gallery on the following days:

Friday, January 23rd 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Saturday, January 24th 2:30pm -4:30pm
Sunday, January 25th 12:00am - 3:00pm -
Applications can be filled out online or in the gallery

Our members show will run 30 January – 1 March, 2026 with an Opening Reception Friday, January 30th from 6:00pm - 9:00pm.

Please join folks in our communities on Caring Tuesday if you are able to lend a hand by donating to your favorite local non-profits like the Yellow Springs Arts Council. Your donation not only helps fund the YS Food Security and Wellbeing fund, it also helps the Yellow Springs Arts Council continue our MISSION to honor, promote and advocate for our community's creative spirit, strengthening its capacity to build economic prosperity and enhance quality of life. Our VISION is to encourage and support arts and cultural offerings in the community through program coordination, community partnership and services for artists of all arts disciplines.

This month at the YSAC gallery, “Essence of Autumn" : Western Ohio Watercolor Society.
Opening Reception Friday, 7 November 4:00-7:00

This exhibition of water media artwork features the paintings of watercolor artists primarily from the Dayton region. The Western Ohio Watercolor Society (WOWS) was founded in 1974 for the purpose of furthering interest in, and adding stature to, the use of watercolor as a fine art medium, as well as to encourage public interest in the medium. Watercolor is defined as water-based media, executed on paper.

This show's general theme is the concept of "Autumn" as expressed in watercolor. Artists' interpretations of this theme may be wide-ranging, and may include: landscapes, objects and still-life, flora and fauna, and possibly even more symbolic representations

Join us at the opening of The Magic Around Us by Brenda Bertrand on Friday, October 3rd, 6:00pm - 8:00pm at YSAC!

"In those moments when I am engrossed with the clay sliding between my fingers and nothing else, something magical happens. There's a moment that suddenly shows up, whether I'm on the wheel or sculpting, where the clay is asking me to stop what I'm doing, to release the perfect vision I started off with for the piece, and to ask the clay what it wants to be.

For me, then, my art is the practice of surrender; it reaffirms for me over and over of the wonder that unfolds when we release our struggles to control the current and let ourselves be carried along with it instead.

When we stop struggling, we are able to see, to imagine, to know the magic around us."

The Yellow Springs Arts Council (YSAC) is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition "Color - Selected Works from the Permanent Collection", in the Robert F. Baldwin, Jr. Gallery. The exhibition theme focusing on color showcases the diversity of thought, creativity, movement, synergy and passion of the artists in their use of color.
