Engine 81 went into service in 1996. It's 30 years old.

The National Fire Protection Association recommends replacing a fire engine once it's more than 25 years old. Our crews keep Engine 81 running, but it's past due.

Issue 20 on the November 3 ballot is a 0.8-mill equipment levy for Miami Township Fire-Rescue. The levy would cost about $28 per year for every $100,000 of your home’s county-appraised value. The Township Trustees have restricted these funds to capital expenditures, meaning they can only be used for major equipment and other long-term purchases. The first priority is replacing Engine 81.
