Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Yellow Springs A liberal, inclusive, supportive religious organization for different people with different beliefs. The UUFYS welcomes and celebrates diversity.

Individuals of all races, ethnic origins, religious philosophies and gender/sexual orientations are included and supported. The UUFYS was organized in 1956, is chartered with the national Unitarian Universalist Association, and is a part of the Heartland District of the UUA. We are called a "fellowship" rather than a "church" because we do not have a paid minister but are lay-led, with governance by an elected Executive Board. All programs and activities are planned and led by volunteers, with an occasional visiting minister for Sunday services. Members are encouraged to present Sunday programs on a topic they choose. Sunday morning programs are offered year-round from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by coffee hour. On the first Sunday of each month, there is also a potluck brunch following the service. Liberal religious education for children and baby/toddler care are provided during Sunday morning programs. Religious or spiritual exploration for adults is offered through small groups led by volunteers; some meet Sunday mornings before services, others differ evenings of the month.

The UUA, the Unitarian Universalists for Social Justice, and the Texas UU Justice Ministry reaffirm our longstanding opposition to the death penalty and our commitment to justice rooted in human dignity.

For families affected by the termination of TPS, this is not an abstract policy question. It is about family unity, human dignity, community stability, and the ability to continue the lives they have built in the United States.

As people of faith, we are called to stand with our neighbors in times of uncertainty. We call on the administration to restore and extend TPS for countries where conditions remain unsafe, and on Congress to provide permanent legal pathways for those who have built their lives, families, and communities here.

Our faith calls us to recognize the inherent dignity of every person and to speak up when our neighbors face separation, detention, deportation, or being returned to unsafe conditions.

We will continue to advocate for protections rooted in compassion, justice, and human dignity.
