Last week, Spearhead Project Earth (SPE) teamed up with our friends at Dow for another successful cleanup effort along the Delaware River shorelines.

Together, our volunteers collected approximately 400 pounds of trash from the shoreline of Newbold Island in Bordentown, NJ, with the majority consisting of single-use plastic bottles and other common plastic waste that would otherwise remain in the environment.

A special thank you to Justin Land at Dow for his continued support of SPE and for helping drive so many of the environmental initiatives that make these outings possible. We are also incredibly grateful to all of the additional volunteers who donated their time and energy to help make a real impact.

Every bottle removed, every bag collected, and every volunteer who shows up helps create a cleaner and healthier future for our communities and waterways.

We are making a difference, one cleanup at a time.

Special shoutouts to John Judy, Jude Michael Abate, Henry Matthews, Jacqueline Moock Costa, Robert Catalano

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting another educational VIP boat tour to Burlington Island.

A special thank you to Candy Chappell for organizing this day with us exploring one of the Delaware River’s most unique natural treasures.

What made the visit especially meaningful was hearing that several participants had lived in Burlington their entire lives but had never actually had the opportunity to set foot on the island. For many, Burlington Island has always been a familiar landmark viewed from shore, but experiencing it firsthand is something entirely different.

Together we explored the island, shared stories about its history, enjoyed its natural beauty, and experienced a place that holds a special connection to the Burlington community.

Moments like these remind us why preservation, education, and community engagement are so important. We are grateful for the opportunity to help more people discover and appreciate Burlington Island.

Together with nearly 30 volunteers from our partners at It's Better Outdoors (IBO), Spearhead Project Earth and IBO removed nearly 800 pounds of debris from the shoreline and surrounding areas!

From kayaks on the water to cleanup crews along the shoreline, everyone came ready to work and make a real impact. The energy, teamwork, and dedication throughout the day were amazing to see! Every cleanup helps protect wildlife, improve our waterways, and keep trash from moving further downstream.

A special thank you John Judy, Volunteer Engagement Lead from SPE for organizing and leading his passion project and to Michael Gawbill, Chair of the Riverton Environmental Commission, for being an incredible partner and volunteer, and capturing amazing photos and drone footage throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make Yak Attack another success. We truly appreciate the support and look forward to continuing the momentum throughout the season. Learn more or get involved at spearheadprojectearth.org

We loved partnering with Bucks Learning Cooperative for a Delaware River shoreline cleanup for another successful cleanup.

Bucks Learning Cooperative is an alternative education program based in Langhorne, PA that supports teens through self-directed learning. Instead of a traditional school model, students take ownership of their education, choosing what and how they learn based on their interests and goals.

Nearly 20 students joined us for a day of hands-on learning outside of the classroom. Together, we removed close to 350 pounds of debris!

The students worked as a team and brought great energy to the day. It was awesome to see returning volunteers back again. This is what it’s all about for Spearhead Project Earth. Giving students the opportunity to learn by doing.

Spearhead Project Earth (SPE) and Pennsbury School District have a multi-year partnership to help create outdoor learning spaces and school gardens, expanding hands-on STEM education, environmental literacy, and community engagement.

SPE was proud to join the Pennsbury School District Garden Initiative at Fallsington Elementary’s Family Fun Fest this week. It was a great evening bringing together students, families, and the community.

In celebration of Earth Day, we sponsored the table and hosted a “Make-It, Take-It” garden activity, giving kids a hands-on way to plant and learn about sustainability and taking something home to grow.

We enjoyed connecting with so many families and sharing ways to get involved. Thank you to everyone who made the night such a success!

So proud to be a partner with Morrisville Environmental Advisory Council!

Thank you to Dow for joining Spearhead Project Earth on April 23 in honor of Earth Day for a Burlington Island shoreline cleanup.

With a small but dedicated team, we removed 235 pounds of waste from the shoreline by hand, helping protect one of the most important natural spaces along the Delaware River.

What a great kickoff to the season and a strong reminder that small teams can make a big impact when people come together for the environment.

We are looking forward to many more cleanup events ahead. If you have been thinking about volunteering, sign up soon because spots on the boat are filling up fast.

Together, one piece at a time, we make a difference.

Special thanks to our captain, our crew and our volunteers. Robert Catalano, John Judy, Frederick Klein, Jude Michael Abate, Jacqueline Moock Costa, Connor Kearney, and Justin Land to name a few!

Happy Earth Day from Spearhead Project Earth

Today is a reminder of what this is all about.

Over the past nearly four years, Spearhead Project Earth has grown from a single shoreline moment into a real, working effort focused on Preservation, Giving Back, and Education.

Together, we’ve:
• Removed tens of thousands of pounds of trash from the Delaware River shoreline
• Brought together hundreds of volunteers across dozens of cleanups
• Built data-driven shoreline monitoring to better understand the problem
• Expanded into school gardens, student programs, and hands-on environmental learning
• Continued to show up, consistently, to protect the places right in front of us

This is not a one-day effort. Earth Day is important, but the work happens year-round.

The photos we’re sharing here tell the full story, from the beginning to today. What started as heavily impacted shorelines is now something we actively maintain and protect.

If you’ve been part of this in any way, thank you.
If you’re just learning about us, you can always get involved.

Spearhead Project Earth (SPE) was proud to join more than 50 volunteers at the 84th Serve with Senator Troy Singleton event for a Delaware River shoreline and riverbank cleanup in Riverton, NJ.

Alongside the Riverton Environmental Commission, the Riverton Green Team, and many dedicated volunteers, hundreds of pounds of waste were removed from the shoreline, helping restore this important section of our Delaware River community.

At SPE, we believe any group working to clean and protect the Delaware River shoreline deserves support. When communities come together like this, real progress happens.

We were proud to volunteer and stand alongside everyone involved. Together we can make a difference.

Special thanks to John Judy for organizing this participation!
