We took a great group of veterans fishing Tuesday night. Supposed to take the boat out but the chance of raid and lightening was high so just fished off the dock at Lake Fork Marina after a great dinner at Jamie’s. Had a great time didn’t get to catch many but had a lot of fun just visiting.

Vivian Svestka Leopold – Treasurer, Lake Fork Sportsman’s Association

The question of what are these?

These are floating planters that contain aquatic grasses. Lake Fork Sportsman’s Association, a volunteer nonprofit organization, obtained grants from Texas Parks & Wildlife for the materials for this project. The Ag department at Yantis High School built these floating planters and a couple schools grew the aquatic grasses. TPWD put them into the lake to provide additional vegetation for fish to hide in.

Coming soon… fish attractors, also built by the Yantis Ag department with funds obtained by LFSA from Friends of Reservoirs, have been completed and will be deployed into the lake by TPWD very soon. You can find the locations of these sites by GPS coordinates on TPWD‘s website.

Donations are welcome at [email protected].

LFSA had its monthly membership meeting on October 8th at Jamie's Restaurant at Lake Fork Marina. We would like to thank our guest speaker was Rick Carter, of Rick Carter's Lake Fork Fishing Guide Service, for speaking to our members last evening. Mr. Carter thanked LFSA for providing the Live Release Boat (LRB), for the enhancements the LRB provides to ensure the highest number of healthy fish released into Lake Fork and for being available to most of the tournaments held on Lake Fork.

LFSA appreciates all Lake Fork guides, who often serve as the eyes and ears of the fishery. Together, we will preserve the legend that is Lake Fork and it's surrounding communities.
