Yesterday the Friends of the Library members Kim Eaton, Tina Volz and Bob Flores hosted the greeters table at the Health, Wellness and Community Resources Fair at the library. We also conducted a fun contest with the prize of a beautiful patriotic eagle wreath. Wayne Romano, Adult Programming Coordinator, organized this fair to the benefit of the many people from our community who came, asked questions of at least 20 local and statewide service organizations, and received valuable free advice and information. The library was hopping!

The Friends of the Library and library staff are thrilled to have received multiple boxes of children's books from The Lisa Libraries to be used in the many Little Free Libraries we maintain around the county. Almost all of the books we place in the Little Free Libraries are not returned. We are happy they find new homes, but we go through a lot of books this way and are always in need of more.
The Lisa Libraries is a nonprofit organization that supplies children's books to other nonprofit organizations in need of books. They supplement under-filled shelves in day care centers, after school programs, etc., and provide books to children who may never have owned a book before. Since 1990 they have distributed over 1,000,000 books to organizations across all fifty states! We are so grateful to be a recipient of their generosity.

Kim Eaton looking really tired after she and other Friends of the Library members Bob Flores and Steve Eaton finished replanting and mulching the native grasses beds behind the library. Hopefully the new grasses will kick in and the weeds will now stay gone! We are doing our best to keep the library grounds well kept.
