Yakima Fly Fishers Association-TU Chapter 094 Yakima Fly Fishers Association is a Trout Unlimited Chapter. We exist to promote the sport of fly fishing for all members of our community.

The mission of Trout Unlimited is to conserve, protect, and restore North America's coldwater fisheries and their watersheds. The Yakima Fly Fishers Association is a not for profit group of local Yakima area fly fishermen and women. We also advocate for education, conservation and habitat rehabilitation for the sport of fly fishing in our area. We strive to bring together men, women, children, families and friends who all share the same love and passion for the great sport of fly fishing and to help with the conservation and maintenance of our central Washington lakes, streams and rivers.

South Fork Tieton Fish Passage at Rimrock Reservoir

Project Description:
Yakima County, in partnership with the USBR, US Fish and Wildlife Service, WA Dept. of Ecology, RCO and US Forest Service, seek to restore year-round fish passage between Rimrock Reservoir and the SF Tieton River. This will correct a man-made fish passage barrier that was created when the original channel was filled in and moved so a bridge could be supported. This current man-made channel terminates in a 40 ft waterfall when the reservoir is at low pool, creating a fish passage barrier.

Wow, great job everyone. A big THANK YOU to those who participated in Saturday’s ‘National Public Lands Day’ clean up. WOW did we get a lot of garbage cleaned up out of the Yakima River and along river access sites between Yakima and Ellensburg. We had five boats in the water and numerous folks on foot. There was a wide arrangement of interesting items found along with the usual oars and paddles. It’s amazing what people throw away, dump or lose.

We had a great time today joining efforts with both Yakima chapters of TU for our MCF fall ‘Embrace a Stream’ section of Wilson Creek located in Ellensburg. We had a surprise group of Red Cross volunteers who showed up to join efforts. They are in our area and have been providing support and volunteering for the recent fires in Washington state. These folks were from different states throughout the US and we sure appreciated their help. A great big thank you to everybody who came out today. See you next spring.
