Yakima Valley Museum Founded in 1951, the Yakima Valley Museum is located adjacent to beautiful Franklin Park. Douglas; and a changing schedule of special exhibitions.

This 65,000 SF facility offers local historical exhibits and features artwork by local artists. The Yakima Valley Museum offers historical exhibits on the Yakima Valley—its natural history, American Indian culture, pioneer life, early city life, and the roots and development of the Valley’s fruit industry. The museum also has a superb collection of horse-drawn vehicles, from stagecoach to hearse; a historical exhibit and reconstruction of the Washington D.C. office of former Yakima resident and environmentalist, Supreme Court Justice William O.

Warm, fuzzy, and fun, teddy bears help us face our fears, provide comfort, and sometimes even chip in around the office. Looking for a way to give back to your community? Recently retired and searching for a new passion project? Yakima Valley Museum is the place for you! Volunteers at YVM help with all sorts of projects, from event support to archival research to outreach activities. As we head into the school year, we’re especially looking for volunteers who are interested in helping with tours for field trip groups. Training is provided, and our tour guides receive amazing opportunities to see the direct impact our museum has on our youngest visitors.

The poet workshop was a success! Poet Laureates Derek Sheffield and Antonio Lopez brought together an enthusiastic and engaged group of participants for an evening of creativity, conversation, and shared inspiration. Attendees explored the writing process and had the opportunity to connect through the power of poetry. We are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the workshop such a welcoming and meaningful experience. A special thank you to the ArtsWA, Humanities WA, Derek, Antonio, and a special donor who made this event possible.
