The Miss America Organization is the largest provider of scholarships to young women in the world! The Miss Yakima County Program serves as an opportunity for young women to represent their local area at the Miss Washington pageant every July, potentially moving on to the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City every September. Along the way titleholders and contestants alike earn money to fund thei
r education and service opportunities to expand their network and world views. The Miss America Organization prides itself on providing young women a support system and path to success, not only in pageantry, but in their future careers and ventures. The Miss Yakima County and Miss Apple Valley titles are available to young women between the ages of 17 (senior in highschool) and 24 (through December of 2017). Miss Apple Valley contestants must legally reside, work full time, or attend school full time in the state of WASHINGTON. Miss Yakima County contestants must legally reside, work full time, or attend school full time in YAKIMA COUNTY. The MIss America's Outstanding Teen Organization is the little sister program to the Miss America Organization. In addition to scholarships, Miss Yakima County Outstanding Teen and Miss Sun Valley's Outstanding Teen are both financially supported at the Miss Washington Outstanding Teen pageant in May. These young women may have the opportunity to compete at the Miss America Outstanding pageant in Orlando, Fl, held in the month of August. The Miss Yakima County and Miss Apple Valley titles are available to young women between the ages of 13 (before May) and 17 (Junior in highschool).
