Yakima County we want to hear from you! đź“Ł

After nearly a year of regional planning and community engagement, the draft Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for Kittitas and Yakima counties is now available for public review.

The CEDS will help guide economic development efforts across our region for the next five years. Community members, businesses, organizations, and other stakeholders are encouraged to review the draft and share their feedback by October 7, 2026.

Today, YCDA had the opportunity to tour Wilbert Precast Inc. and learn more about the incredible work happening right here in Yakima County!

A special thank you to TJ Houk and the entire Wilbert Precast Inc. team for welcoming our group, sharing more about the company, and showing us around the facility.

We also appreciated learning about Wilbert Precast’s involvement in the Vantage I-90 Bridge project and the important role local manufacturing plays in major infrastructure projects across Washington.

Thank you as well to Brian White with the Washington State Department of Transportation for giving our group an informative presentation on the significance of the Vantage Bridge and the work being done to preserve this critical transportation connection.

We are proud to have companies like Wilbert Precast contributing their expertise, talent, and high-quality products to projects that make an impact across our state!

Good morning!

Today, the YCDA team is in the Tri-Cities attending the Washington Economic Development Association (WEDA) Summer Conference. We’re looking forward to connecting with economic development professionals from across Washington, learning about new ideas and best practices, and bringing those insights back to help strengthen Yakima County.

The Yakima County Development Association (YCDA) is proud to help bring the USA FIRA Ag Tech Conference to the Yakima Valley! 🌱🚜

For the first time, this nationally recognized Ag tech conference - previously held in California - will take place right here in Yakima, Washington, October 20–22, 2026. This milestone reflects the strength of our region’s agricultural industry and our growing role as a hub for innovation and technology.

This effort is made possible through strong collaboration with our partners, including GOFAR, Yakima County, and the Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission. Together, we’re working to showcase the Yakima Valley as a leader in ag innovation and to welcome industry leaders from across the country and internationally.
