Tonight, the Yakima Pom Club is hosting Cheryl Reese, Farm Stress Co-Coordinator at WSU Yakima Extension.
Farm stress isn't a soft topic. It's a real one. Financial pressure, generational transitions, isolation, the weather doing what the weather does. Our industry loses good people to it every year, and most of us know someone. We're grateful for the work Cheryl does, and glad she's willing to spend an evening with us.
We'll also hear from our IFTA scholarship recipients ( Kai Hanrahan and Claire Rasch) on what they brought back from their trip. This is the payoff on the club's investment in the next generation of growers, and it's always one of the better parts of the year.
