π§ Repair, Reuse, and Strengthen Our Community π§
At Yakima Valley Partners Habitat for Humanity, we know that maintaining what we already have is just as important as building something new. That's why we're happy to help spread the word about an upcoming community resource that shares many of the same values we believe in: stewardship, sustainability, and neighbors helping neighbors.
Repair Cafe Yakima invites community members to bring broken household items, clothing, small appliances, electronics, bikes, garden tools, and more to their free repair event on Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Yakima Maker Space, 16 S. First Street in Yakima.
Volunteer "fixers" will work alongside participants to troubleshoot and repair items whenever possible. While not every item can be saved, every repair is an opportunity to learn something new, reduce waste, and keep usable items out of the landfill.
Repair CafΓ© Yakima is part of a global movement dedicated to repairing rather than replacing, helping community members save money while extending the life of everyday belongings.
Thank you to the dedicated volunteers of Repair CafΓ© Yakima for helping build a more sustainable and connected community. π
