GIFT Stimulus Check 2021

GIFT Stimulus Check 2021 Many Americans believe too much money is going to people who don't need it and not nearly enough is g Good intentions die fast. Especially now.

Many Americans believe too much money is going to people who don't need it and not nearly enough is going to those who truly do. That said, GIFTSC2021 challenges all of us to consider if our checks would best serve others who are struggling the most. DON’T HESITATE! 30% of Americans intended to donate last April, but only 3% did. It’s easier to give something away before we take ownership. GIFTSC

2021 doesn’t directly collect donations nor support any specific cause. We are simply encouraging those who are financially blessed to consider those who aren't. Paying a neighbor’s utility bill or helping a small business are two of thousands of options. However, If you don’t have one in mind, see our post that lists numerous national and local options where you can be directed to that cause’s donation page.

Just imagine if we all didn’t just tell ourselves this, but ACTED on it more often? We’d all definitely be more compassionate, forgiving, and giving of ourselves. As our world seems to get nuttier daily, love is consistent if we choose to act on it.

Yes, you should use them. But don't say them out loud. Things could get weird, fast.

All our lives have changed! Our circles are more limited now due to masks, social distancing, quarantines, fear, etc. Maybe it’s time to intentionally grow our circles-even during difficult times? Look beyond our current circle and into another’s who may be really struggling? Establish new relationships with the mindset of compassion and kindness regardless of our differences? We don’t have to look far to find a new circle and it’s certainly not hard to support one! What are you going to do different today to help rebuild our sense of community? To help someone less fortunate than you? Grow your circle? Let’s all do our part today to rebuild our community!

We may not see it in our neighborhoods, but this is a real thing. Many simply choose not to look too closely for whatever reason. Fortunately, most of us aren’t in the position these people are, but we may be in the position to help! Especially with our extra funds from stimulus funds. Empathy followed by action is what our country as a whole needs to improve upon regardless of race, politics, religion. etc. We need to revisit the definition of community! Please do your part with the blessings you’ve been given. This could be any one of us if our professions or life situations were different.

This guy has it figured out! Well-worth the 2 mins of your life to watch the video! Serving and giving to others truly can lead to a simple, happy and fulfilled life. Serving from our heart does not go unnoticed. It’s inspiring and contagious!

If you haven’t watched the movie “Sea Biscuit” before, make time to watch it! It’s a true story set in the time of the Great Depression (1929-1933). Up to 25% of American’s lost their jobs almost overnight. There are numerous parallels between the Great Depression and 2020 actually. The most memorable part of the story for me was when a jockey intentionally dropped out of the lead in order to encourage the horse trailing the pack. The jockey knew the trailing horse had lost his confidence and just needed someone to slow down and encourage him to regain it. Many of us who haven’t lost our stride may need to “slow down” more often to help other’s find and regain their confidence. The best part of the scene is the look on the jockey’s face when he saw the horse kick into another gear once he realized his potential. Pure joy!

According to recent statistics in an article by STAT, a record number of Americans overdosed between June, 2019 and June, 2020. 81,003 overdoses!! What a sad story for these people, their friends and families. According to STAT, the large increase was due to the affects Covid has had on society. I wonder how many of these people overdosed because stimulus checks were given to addicts who weren't strong enough to not spend it on their addictions? PLEASE, those of us who do not need the stimulus money, give it to missions, charities, foundations, etc who can help people who can't help themselves. This is one example of responsible use of stimulus funds versus giving it to people who aren't strong enough to spend it on drugs or people who simply don't need the checks. 81,000 is a ridiculously high number--we can do much better than that if we all did a little more when we are handed the means to do so. We believe we will do better!

We are so privileged to live in a country where we can freely celebrate our loved ones however we choose. Valentine's Day is a holiday of intention; a day dedicated to let others know how important it is to feel loved and to let them know how much we love them. Perhaps this year, of all years, we should extend Valentine's Day to Valentine's week? And to extend our love to perfect strangers who could really use some? Let's all pick one person a day and let them know we care; let them know that they are important--that their needs are our needs as one community.

Something was brought to my attention recently that I thought was a GREAT opportunity to give back to our community...

Food is one of the things that the homeless can acquire quite easily. But supplies such as these are harder for them to come by.

So a friend of mine decided to take her stimulus check and go to the dollar store and put together little survival kits with things like

aspirin, gloves, clean socks, cold medicine, a granola bar or candy bar, a bottle of water, some wet wipes, deodorant, soap, toothpaste and a toothbrush and then she got $5 gift cards from Mickey D’s and put those in there as well.

For under $20 a Bucket she was able to create an extremely useful gift to hand out to the homeless.. or drop the lot of them off at a shelter. $1400 could make 70 emergency buckets or first aid kits.

Each One would contain:
1-Container
1 -$5 GC to McDonalds
14-Items

Another great place to take first aid kits that you can create at the dollar store is to the women’s shelter. Add in some toys for the kiddies that don’t have much. Clean socks, bottles, baby supplies.

If you’re not sure what to do with your stimulus check and you’d like to give back.. these are a couple of ways to do it!

Good Morning!
As I layed in bed last night I kept thinking about an experience I had recently and I ALMOST got up and posted it at 1am. That’s how much this moved my heart ♥️!

I was at the store recently doing my weekly grocery shopping and I bumped into a friend of mine I hadn’t seen in about a year. Her cart was completely full and after we chatted for a min or two.. about the Hi’s 👋 & How are you’s... How are the kids and that sort of small talk... She asked me a question that I didn’t expect... She said,”Can you think of anything you’d need in your home as a single mother from the store?”

I looked at her with that; dog tilting its head kind of confusion.

She continues to say,”I was on FB and this single mom reached out on a page and she didn’t know how she was going to pay her rent this month or feed her kids. So I figured I’d fill her house with items she needs and food. I’m so blessed that I don’t have to struggle and I don’t know what it would be like if I had to question where my kids’ next meal was coming from.”

You 👏🏻 guys👏🏻 ....
This 🙌🏻 cart 🙌🏻 was 🙌🏻 FULL 🙌🏻!

We chatted for a few more mins and went on our way. As I walked away I had this overwhelming humbleness. That feeling crept into my soul! I started to ask myself, What can I do to give back? What can I contribute to my community? And at that moment my wheels began to turn!

And to think, before I saw her in the store I was fine with just buying my groceries, putting them away and not thinking about anything else besides what was on my to do list! Isn’t that sad 😔! How we get so wrapped up in our lives we forget about others!

Giving is contagious! And the more people that give, the more people want to give!
