Walk for Hunger 2026, in memory of Susan Steelman, was a huge success. The Lord gave us a beautiful day for the Walk at Yadkinville Park. Anointed by Grace blessed us with some lovely and inspiring music. Richmond Hill Baptist Church also hosted a walk. Nineteen churches totaled 113 walkers participating in these events. Thank you to the wonderful donors who contributed generously. A special thanks to Deep Creek Friends and the Steelman family, for sponsoring this project.

What a blessing that we, as a community, can come together to make such an outstanding impact on hunger in our county. You folks continue to demonstrate that you truly “love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

Walk for Hunger is tomorrow, Sunday, October 4th! Thank you, Deep Creek Friends and the Steelman family, for all your hard work on this project. We are looking forward to joining together as a community to share in addressing food insecurity in Yadkin County! If we experience inclement weather on Sunday, the Walk will be moved to Yadkinville Elementary School. Please share this alternate location with your walk teams.

Sandy Spring Baptist Church Sisters of Faith sponsor a monthly food drive to support three food pantries in the area. YCM was the lucky recipient for the month of September. These dear Sisters presented 213 pounds of food and a $50 donation to us. The food included meal kits with all the ingredients and recipes to make a complete family meal.
