We are 1️⃣ week away from this deadline! We hope to see lots of fun creations from our 4-H’ers! 🎃

“Join us as we celebrate the spooky season with a pumpkin decorating contest! 🍀🎃

Don't worry—your entry doesn't have to be scary or creepy though. It just needs to fit this year's theme: “Your Fave Movie!” You can recreate a favorite character, an iconic scene, a recognizable movie prop, or anything else inspired by a film you love. All 4-H’ers ages 5–18 are welcome to participate!

Contest Rules & Guidelines

🎃 Decorating Style: Decorate your pumpkin however you'd like! However, no punctured, carved, or cut pumpkins will be accepted (we want to avoid rotting pumpkins!).

🎃 Size & Color: You may use any size or color pumpkin you choose.

🎃 Multiple Pumpkins: You may use multiple pumpkins only if they are attached to each other. Separate, unattached pumpkin entries will not be accepted.

🎃 Props & Accessories: You may add extra objects or props to your creation, but they must be securely attached to the pumpkin.

🎃 Written Description: A short description explaining your creation must accompany your pumpkin. It doesn't need to be permanently affixed, but it must be attached (tied, taped, pinned, etc.) so the judges can read it.

🎃 Drop-off Location: All entries must be turned in to: Yadkin County Cooperative Extension Office -2051 Agricultural Way, Suite 201 Yadkinville, NC 27055 by October 23rd!”

Did you guys tune in last week to see the AMAZING photography 4-H’ers from all over the state sent in?? They had 500 entries in this competitive competition. Some of our Yadkin County 4-H’ers even placed! Check out our winners below ⬇️

We wanted to give a BIG shout out to the Adventurers 4-H Club for decorating this beautiful Christmas Tree for the Carolina Classic Fair!

These guys did a wonderful job! Each child decorated ornaments with words that they felt described being an American. They also personalized the tree skirt with own hand prints in red, white, and blue. They did so well with the patriotic theme! 🇺🇸

Also, the club leaders/parents, did an AMAZING job making sure these kids had the freedom and support they needed to make this tree their own. They are the real MVPs!! ❤️💙🤍

Happy last day of National 4-H Week! We hope you had a good time celebrating 4-H with us this week and we hope you keep the 4-H spirit up all year long. 🍀

Since it’s the last day of National 4-H Week, and 4-H is all about giving back, share your favorite way to give back with 4-H!

Helping others can come in so many ways! It could be sharing about your livestock to other 4-H’ers, making Valentine’s Day cards for nursing home residents, or so much more! Show off how you give back to others with 4-H. 💚

Yay m, it’s Friday! 🤩

4-H is all about getting you out of your comfort zone. This may be trying new things that will you develop important life skills! Like 4-H Presentations!

What was a time you were out of your comfort zone and grew from it thanks to 4-H? 🍀

Ms. Madaline’s answer for herself is 4-H Presentations. Growing up super shy made it not so easy to get up in front of people. But 4-H presentations gave her a safe place to do that so she could develop public speaking skills. Which is a skill she actively uses in her job now. So she is super thankful for 4-H pushing her out of her comfort zone. 💚

Take time to recognize the people and experiences that make 4-H possible! Thank someone who has made a difference in your 4-H journey, share a favorite memory or highlight something you are thankful for because of 4-H.

Comment under the photos 4-H Leader, 4-H Volunteer, 4-H Parent, and 4-H Staff and tag someone you are thankful in 4-H! 💚

We enjoy all of our programs, but Chef and the Child has a special place in our hearts. Chef Don and other members of the NC American Culinary Association, have come together to present this program for 20 years. We are so thankful for these chefs inspiring so many young cooks! 👨‍🍳
