We had a great time yesterday at our ZooTopia movie afternoon! We learned how we can work better together, how our words matter, and lots of fun along the way. 🐰🦊🐯🦁

“Come with us as we go on a nature adventure with Ms. Kellee, our Horticulture Agent! We will be hiking around Pilot Mountain K**b learning about the different plants that grow there. We will also be exploring nature through a scavenger hunt and many other activities. Participants should bring a packed lunch and wear closed toed shoes.”

Today for Summer Fun, Ms. Chelsea, our Yadkin County - Family and Consumer Sciences agent, taught us how to make ratatouille! 🍅

We had a blast making this fun dish, watching Ratatouille the movie, and learning a little bit about French culture. 🇫🇷

🎨🥛 CALLING ALL NORTH CAROLINA YOUTH ARTISTS! 🥛🎨
June is Dairy Month, and we are celebrating with The Great Dairy Art Contest: Farm Fresh Creativity! We want to see your most creative, innovative, and beautiful artwork promoting our amazing dairy industry.
Think outside the milk carton! Submissions can feature:
✨ Delicious dairy foods & recipes (cheese, ice cream, yogurt!)
🚜 The hard work of dairy farmers and businesses
💡 Future dairy inventions, packaging, or marketing ideas
🌱 Farm-to-table concepts & healthy living
🏆 TWO AGE DIVISIONS & PRIZES
🔹 Division 1: Youth (Ages 5–12)
Submissions open: NOW until June 12
Voting period: June 13 – June 20
🔹 Division 2: Teen (Ages 13–18)
Submissions open: June 8 – June 26
Voting period: June 27 – July 4
🎁 The Winner of each division will receive a $25 Gift Card!

All entries will be posted to our page for a week of public voting! Likes, reactions, and comments all count as points, so get ready to rally your friends, family, and community to support your artwork!

The third and last day of our Chef and Child Program was great! We made stir fry 🥘, roasted corn 🌽, rice 🍚, and delicious oatmeal cookies! 🍪

We are so thankful for this program and Chef Don for being able and willing to teach these 4-H’ers how to cook healthy foods! 💚

Today we had a wonderful meal consisting of lasagna 🍅, salad 🥗, bread 🥖, and sweet tea with some yummy citrus fruit! 🍊🍋‍🟩🍋

We had a wonderful day with our Chef and the Child Program! Today we made omelets 🍳, orange 🍊 and pineapple 🍍 juice, and ice cream muffins!🍦

“It’s your time to show off your sewing skills! 🧵🪡

The North Central District is hosting their Fashion R***e and they want YOU to be a part of it! It’s never been easier to be a part of this show either. You have the opportunity to sew something you can wear like a shirt, dress, pants, etc. if you want enter in the Wearable Fashion Competition. You even get to walk a runway to show off your sewing skills at District Activity Day! Or you can even make a pillow, handbag, stuffed toy, or hand sewn item in the Small Sewn Item Competition. And if your sewn item doesn’t fit into any of those categories, they even have a Miscellaneous Sewn item category to fit in those other fun sewn items. Those items will be displayed at District Activity Day.

4-H’ers have the chance to win prizes and ribbons for their efforts in this show! All entries are due by May 29th at 5:00 PM to the Yadkin County Extension office, so make sure to mark your calendar! * If you plan to be in the Wearable Fashion R***e, make sure to mark your calendars also for an interview on June 15th via Zoom and to model your garment at District Activity June 24th at N.L. Dillard Middle School in Caswell County on June 24th.*
