September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, and 9/8 is !

This is a time to learn more about su***de prevention, share hope, and remind people that help is available. Together, we can support mental health and build a stronger community.

Join us in raising awareness of the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline and reminding people that support is available.

This year’s theme, “988 Reasons: Your reason is reason enough,” reminds us that you don’t have to be in crisis to reach out. Learn more and find resources to participate: samhsa.gov/988Day

We love you, Dolly!
Several of our team joined others around the world in wearing pink to honor Dolly Parton after her passing yesterday. It's a small tribute to Dolly and the things we loved about her. Like her amazing music. And her philanthropy and contributions to literacy by giving books to children. And her relentless love and positivity. We could go on! She was a bright light in a world that needs more like her!

Kevin Alley wins our August “GRIT” award! Kevin is a crisis counselor who works nights at our Smyth Crisis Care Center. Here are some of the things we love and admire about Kevin:
• He’ll work odd hours and many hours to provide coverage at our crisis center.
• He’s a jack of all trades. No job is too big or too small. Ask him to pick up trash and he’ll be happy to do it.
• He’s a steady presence at the crisis care center.
• He’s a wonderful counselor. The people he works with feel no judgment from him. It doesn’t matter what they tell him, he shows no judgment and they open up to him.

Thank you for all you do, Kevin! Here he's receiving his award from CEO Sandy Bryant (right) and Senior Director of Crisis Response Services Kim Woodlee.
