We had a beautiful day at Withers Park for Senior Appreciation Day!

The Mount Rogers team had fun meeting seniors, sharing information, and giving away helpful items. This year, we gave away 125 medication lock boxes for free! These boxes help people keep their medicine safe.

Locking up medicine and keeping it away from children, pets, and others can help stop accidents and keep people safe.

Thank you to all who helped make this a great event. We had a lot of fun and can’t wait for next year!

We have kudos! Congratulations to Anthony Craver, our program manager of Veteran and Wellness Services as the April Employee of the Month. Anthony is a veteran who is doing an excellent job of connecting with veterans in our region. He's also someone who goes above and beyond, says his manager, Senior Director of Wellness and Community Engagement Samantha Crockett.

"He has been a key leader in launching our Peer Wellness Centers and Veteran Services," she said. "He also started the Fishing for Veterans peer group, which now has over 40 participants, creating a strong space for connection and support."

The Integrated Health Services Mobile Health Unit is on the move! Here’s where it will be set up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at each location next week:
• June 8: Woodlawn School Apartments - 745 Woodlawn Rd., Woodlawn, VA.
• June 10: Old Walgreen's in Saltville - 113 E Main St., Saltville, VA.
• June 11: Free Market - Independence - 1173 N Independence Ave., Independence, VA.

The Mobile Unit offers physical health, behavioral health, and harm reduction in education services in one location. It is a partnership between the Virginia Department of Health, Mount Rogers Health District, and Mount Rogers Community Services.
