We don’t know how Community Works Director, Meredith Dean, can fit us into her busy schedule but we sure are glad she is! From Community Works to Healthy Floyd to the Appalachian Women of Action, Meredith is a driving force in community engagement. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is providing diapers, shampoo/wash and wipes to those who are in need. We're seeking donations to help with this important drive. We urgently need diaper sizes 3, 4, 5 & 6 and shampoo/wash. Drop off your donations at 600 Tazewell Street or we can arrange a pick up. Join us in making a meaningful impact in our community.

Do you know someone in Wythe County who is a senior or is homebound and would benefit from hot meals being delivered to their door?

Thanks to the support of the Wythe-Bland Foundation, we are launching a brand new program December 2nd! We will be delivering freshly made Open Door Cafe meals 3 times a week to seniors and homebound individuals within Wythe County. If you would like to volunteer to help us deliver meals or if you or someone you know may qualify for our Nourishing Neighbors Program please stop by the Cafe or call (276)227-0212.

Today Community Works volunteered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace- Va, Wythe Co. to learn the process of bed building so NO KIDS IN OUR TOWN SLEEP ON THE FLOOR. They only needed 2 of us to participate today as this was a get off the ground day. Along with other partners and volunteers, we built 10 beds for future deliveries in Wythe & Bland Counties. We are so excited about moving forward to not only build beds but to help deliver to our kids within our community.
