Please remember that Lysol Disinfectant spray is toxic to cats and can cause sudden acute kidney failure.

Same goes for a lot of the wipes and other cleaners, especially Pine Sol and ammonia.

Know that soap and water kills the outside protective layer of the virus.

Diluted bleach and water is always an effective cleaner.

If you must spray Lysol, please remove your pets from the room first and don’t allow them back in until surfaces are fully dry.

Remember when I rescued Winston from ACCT Philly and he had a gnarly URI that was killing some if the other shelter animals? Before I could let our other cats into his room, I steam mopped the hard wood floors, used steam on the area rug and his cat condo, washed mom’s bedding in hot water and used bleach diluted in water (and allowed to dry before Winston could access his room again) for the other surfaces. Not one of our other cats caught his URI.
