The Gala of Light doesn't happen on its own. Behind every detail is a community that shows up.

Sponsors who invest in local advocacy. Volunteers who plan, set up, and welcome guests. Board members and staff who pour months into one evening. Artists and businesses who donate auction items. Neighbors who spread the word and fill the room. Each of them plays a part in making sure children in Berks County foster care have advocates by their side.

Tonight, we gather for the Gala of Light!

We can't wait to celebrate with the supporters, partners, and volunteers who make CASA of Berks County's work possible. Every ticket, every silent auction bid, and every conversation tonight helps us recruit, train, and support advocates for children who need someone in their corner.

If you're joining us at Building 24, we'll see you at 5:00 PM for the reception and silent auction. If you can't attend, you can still be part of the evening by sharing this post or supporting our mission from wherever you are.

A child in foster care may experience changing placements, schools, caseworkers, services, and court dates, sometimes all in the same year.

That's why a CASA volunteer matters so much.

A child welfare worker may carry many cases at once. A CASA volunteer only has one. That focus means one trained adult getting to know one child's experience and helping the court understand what that child truly needs.

It's a simple idea with a lasting impact, and it's how CASA of Berks County helps children stay seen in a system that moves fast.

Curious what CASA actually does, day to day? Come find out over lunch.

Our Executive Director Laura Biancone, MSW, is presenting a Lunch & Learn on Monday, September 29th, 12:00–1:00 PM at the Exeter Community Library. Light lunch will be provided, bring your questions, this is a no-pressure, come-as-you-are way to learn about the dependency system and how CASA volunteers make a difference.

Free and open to the community.
