What does an Advocate Supervisor actually do?

You'll train and support volunteer advocates, review their court reports, answer their questions when a case gets hard, and make sure every child on our caseload has someone showing up for them consistently.

It's part mentor, part case reviewer, part cheerleader.

"I heard their stories and their wishes and always wanted to do more for them."

This volunteer spent years as a speech therapist in an elementary school, working with kids in foster care. She saw firsthand what these children were carrying, and she saw how much they needed someone extra in their corner, someone whose only job was to advocate for them.

So when she retired, she became a CASA.

Careers end. Callings don't have to. If you've spent your working life caring for kids, as a teacher, a nurse, a therapist, a coach, you already have exactly what it takes to become a CASA volunteer.

A gift of $50 helps cover training materials for one new CASA volunteer. A gift of $150 helps support a volunteer through an entire year with a child.

You don't have to become a CASA to change a kid's story. You can also make it possible for someone else to.

CASA of Berks County is looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Directors. Our board is made up of dedicated community members who guide our mission to make sure every child in the dependency system in Berks County has a trained advocate in their corner.

If you have a background in finance or accounting and want to put those skills toward something that changes children's lives, we'd love to hear from you.

Our fall training cohort starts in September, and we're looking for people who want to make a real difference for a kid.

No special background required. We train you completely. What we need is consistency, patience, and someone willing to show up for a child who's had too many adults not show up.
