Hello EYC families & community,
We share with you today the sad news that the Fleener family is stepping away from their roles at camp. Camp has been a huge part of our life for 60+ years. In 2019 when camp needed support we were happy to step in. The Fleener family has dedicated countless hours to the EYC programs and advocated for the camps legacy, history and community. As our Diocese became the Diocese of the Great Lakes, changes to Camp are being made, and it is best to allow new leadership to try new ideas. We hope you continue loving camp, and remembering it is The Real World. More information about camp will be communicated, if you have any questions please email: [email protected]

This week, our Director for Formation & Camping, McKenzie Bade-Knill, is attending the ECCC - Episcopal Camps & Conference Centers at Barbara C. Harris Camp & Conference Center in New Hampshire where Presiding Bishop Sean affirmed the tremendous formation power of our Episcopal Camps: "You won’t find any more serious formation in the Episcopal Church [than camp].”

We are saddened to hear of the passing of former EYC counselor Don Vanderwest. Don dedicated many summers to camp and he will be missed. We will share information on funeral services in a following post.

A prayer for Don,
Dear Heavenly Father we pray for Don and his family and we thank him for his time dedicated to our camp. For the memories made and the love shared, we are truly honored to have known him and will continue to think of him through service at camp.

This week campers worked together to create prayers. This is a combined prayer of the people from all of our campers that was read at final Eucharist. We hope you are all home safely and thank you for a wonderful week.♥️

We pray for people we know who have died and others that we don’t know.

We are thankful for camp, campers, and staff, good food, health, friends,

We pray for our families and for health for our families, for safety at camp, and when traveling home. We ask for opportunities to help others. We pray that everyone will have enough food and water and a place to call home. We pray for those who suffer in silence. We pray for people whose homes are not safe. We ask you to be with us when we are mad, sad, or scared.
