We have been meeting with a group of teenagers at Traditions apartments. We have known many of them for several years. Our goal has been to raise them up to believe in themselves and for them to become leaders. They have been assisting us with our mentoring/tutoring program. This week several of them asked Jesus into their heart and want to serve God!! We are thrilled about this, as many of them come from difficult backgrounds. Now we will disciple them and watch them grow up spiritually.

We had a truck donated to the ministry. World Mission gave it to us and we are in the process of fixing it up and getting a paint job done.. The truck will be used for picking up food from the food bank so we can assistance families in need. We will also use it to pick up other supplies. It will be a great addition to the ministry. We will be having our annual fundraising banquet in May. Stay tuned for details.

Pictures from the December Outreach on Taft Avenue. A big SHOUT OUT to the Wyoming Park High School Theater Company for assisting. It would not have happened without your help. One of the students said it was the best thing she had done in her life.

Remember to get on the Fox 17 web site and vote for Newhall Middle School for the pay it forward challenge. If Newhall wins, they get $5000.00 to go back into the Taft neighborhood.

Be sure to watch FOX 17 tonight at 6:00, as we will be featured along with Newhall Middle School. FOX has been doing a pay it forward challenge with schools and tonight is our night. Newhall provided many groceries and brand new toys and other items for families. Also, if you attend the Wyoming Park Play called The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, two dollars from every ticket will go towards a Christmas basket for residents on Taft Ave. Dates and times follow: Thursday at 7:00, Friday at 7:00, Saturday at 2:00 and 7:00. The theater company will deliver the food baskets.

We are getting ready for the holidays. CTW is partnering with the Wyoming Park High School drama team to provide families on Taft Ave a Christmas dinner in the form of groceries, including a ham or turkey. Some of the proceeds from their Christmas play will go towards the purchase of the groceries. The drama team will also assist in the delivery of the groceries. A big Thank You to Wyoming Park!! Also, set aside May 1, as that will be our annual fundraiser dinner...more details to come.
