Here in Wyoming, firefighters work an average of 50.4 hour work weeks, compared to the standard 40 hour work week for most city employees.

Over a 20-year career those additional hours really add up! A firefighter in Wyoming will work more than 10,800 additional hours. That’s the equivalent of over 270 extra work weeks or more than 5 additional years of full-time work!

Plus that only accounts for scheduled hours. Those statistics don’t include the many hours our members give when staffing requires overtime, emergency call-backs, special events and additional training. 👨🏻‍🚒

Although this graphic is based upon a 56 hour work week the message is still the same; our members don’t just work differently they dedicate thousands of additional hours in service to the City of Wyoming.

Real numbers not opinions.
