MWW tests water in West Virginia’s streams, runoff, and wells and delivers clear results to the people who depend on that water so communities can understand what’s in their water and decide how to protect their health, property, & places they care about.

What a weekend for Mountain Water Watch!

Over the past three days, members of the Abingdon Ruritan Club from Yorktown, VA brought 13 pallets of bottled water to our community. Moving that much water is no small task, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who showed up to help unload, carry, and distribute cases to families who need them.

Thanks to this effort, water was delivered to Pineville United Methodist Church Food Pantry, the Brenton Fire Department, and the Indian Creek community.

This weekend also marked an exciting new chapter for Mountain Water Watch. We are proud to welcome Kaden Thomas as our Student Intern and Youth Advisor to the Board.

Many folks know Kaden from his work with the ClearFlow project in Ms. Baker’s science class at Huff Consolidated, where he helped lead the award-winning team that earned national recognition through the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition in Washington, D.C. As he prepares to enter high school, Kaden will continue learning, serving his community, and partnering with other students through his work with Mountain Water Watch this summer.

In the first photo, Kaden stands with Maggie Stange and Richard Altizer, Mountain Water Watch board member and founder, in front of one of the pallets of water delivered this weekend.

We’re excited to have Kaden on the team and grateful for everyone who helped make this weekend a success.

⭐️ Please join us in giving Kaden a warm welcome! ⭐️
