We teach parents around the world how to help their children to achieve their potential - physiological, physical, intellectual & social. Historically, children diagnosed with developmental delay, cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity, learning problems, dyslexia, and a host of other symptomatic diagnoses have been considered hopeless. Thousands of parent

s have come to The Institutes to learn how to help their children at home. Those parents have proven beyond any doubt that brain-injured children are not hopeless, but instead have tremendous potential. The Institutes exists to insure that all brain-injured children have a fighting chance to be well. The objective of The Institutes is to take brain-injured children, however severely hurt, and help them to achieve normality physically, intellectually, physiologically, and socially. The majority of children achieve one of these goals, and many children achieve two of these goals. Some children achieve all of these goals, and some children achieve none of these goals. The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential serves children from all over the world. The international headquarters is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Qualified branches of The Institutes are the European Institute in Fauglia, Italy, and The Doman Kenkyusho in Tokyo and Kobe, Japan. The Institutes have offices in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and Madrid Spain. The Institutes presents courses for parents in Philadelphia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, Russia, and Australia.

💔 "They told us to lower our expectations."

If you're the parent of a child with cerebral palsy, you've probably heard words that felt more limiting than helpful.

At The Institutes, we've spent over 70 years teaching parents how to help their children make meaningful progress by understanding and stimulating the brain.
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to reach their fullest potential and every parent deserves hope, knowledge, and a plan. 💙

We've seen children achieve things others thought were impossible because their families refused to give up and learned how to help their child's brain grow and develop. 🌟

✨ Your child's potential is greater than any diagnosis.

📅 Our next LIVE Online Course begins August 10.

Abigail was born post-maturely and by 18 months had missed all expected milestones. She was diagnosed with ataxic cerebral palsy, hyperactivity, and attention deficiency disorder. By age 8, she was visually impaired, unable to write, and in the lowest reading group in her class. She struggled with walking, running, speech, sleep, digestion, allergies, frequent infections, and often did not respond normally to pain. Conventional therapies produced slow progress.

At this time, Abigail’s parents attended the What to Do About Your Brain-Injured Child course. 📚

Soon after, Mother reported that Abigail’s hyperactivity had decreased. Four months after her first appointment at The Institutes, Abigail was healthier, sleeping deeply, and showing significant improvements in behavior, digestion, mood, and learning. She became eager to read, more confident with books, and enlarged print made a remarkable difference. 📖

For the first time, Abigail was writing and speaking clearly in paragraphs. Her response to pain normalized, and she was walking and running with excellent coordination.

Then came an unforgettable milestone. Mother reported:

“Abigail ran a 5K! 🏃‍♀️ She completed 3.1 miles in 45 minutes. Right before the finish line, the crowd cheered her name. The little girl who had been counted out too many times was finally getting her moment.”

UPDATE MAY 2026

Mother reports:

“Abigail ran her best 5K ever—30 minutes and 33 seconds! 🏅 Out of more than 500 runners, she sprinted from the back of the lineup to the front of the pack. She finished in the top 10% of all runners that day, including adults.

She has now shaved 15 minutes off her 5K time. We’re all so proud of her. 💙 Physically, she's excellent. The little girl who was once the last to finish is now at the front, leading the race.

Her next big goal is to ride a bike. 🚲 We thought this would take all summer, but by the end of the weekend she was already riding for nearly 20 minutes.

PS. Wherever she is, indoors or outdoors, she always has a book in her hands. 📚❤️”
