Through learning, collaboration, and community engagement, these leaders gained valuable insight into what makes Wylie thrive. We are grateful for their commitment and look forward to the impact they will continue to make throughout our community.

We’re proud to celebrate Christy on her graduation from Leadership Wylie Class XXII!

Leadership Wylie, a program through the Wylie Area Chamber of Commerce, is designed to develop and connect community leaders through hands-on experiences, relationship building, and a deeper understanding of the organizations and initiatives that help shape Wylie.

Additionally, it was announced that Christy will serve as the liaison for next year’s Leadership Wylie Class XXIII, continuing her commitment to supporting and strengthening leadership within our community.

At the April State of the Chamber Annual Meeting & Luncheon, they had the privilege of recognizing incredible leaders who have made a lasting impact on the Wylie Area Chamber and our business community.
Brenda Byboth was proudly recognized for her dedicated service to the Chamber Board and her continued commitment to supporting local businesses and community growth.
Ian Halperin of Wylie ISD was also honored as the outgoing Chairman of the Board and welcomed Jessica Zuniga of Beyond the Behavior as the incoming Chairman of the Board. Their leadership, vision, and service continue to strengthen the Chamber and the Wylie community.
Former board members Carrie Lindsey and Dr. Ashley Gardner were also recognized for their service and leadership throughout the years. Dr. Ashley Gardner also previously served as Chairman of the Board, and the community and Chamber are grateful for the impact both have made.

Thank you to each of these leaders for the time, passion, and dedication you have invested into this organization and community.

One Month to Graduation! 🎉

Leadership Wylie Class XXII is officially ONE MONTH away from graduation, and what an incredible journey it has been.

It has truly been an honor to learn, grow, and serve alongside this amazing group of leaders who are making a real impact in our community. The connections, the collaboration, and the shared commitment to leadership have made this experience unforgettable.

Today for Leadership Wylie we toured and heard from speakers about City of Wylie Municipal Court, Wylie PD and Wylie FD (FR). Then we got to get hands on and up front with Fire Rescue.

Got to check out Medic equipment, watch a Jaws demo on a car, learn about their swift water rescue team and then the fun began.

Toured the brand new training tower where they allowed volunteers to rappel down. I wanted to so bad, but with recent back issues decided against it.

I did get to gear up and go into the smoke filled towers. Then they did a demo with the tower “on fire”.

Leadership Wylie is getting real access with behind the scenes opportunities with our Fire & Police Departments to see what it actually takes to protect a city.
