Happy Birthday Joe Wilburn!
Joined Rotary: 05/2023.
Being a Tulsa native all of his life, Joe became a Grand Lake resident in June of 2023. He and spouse Janice have 45 years of memories they can laugh and smile about. They look forward to making many more in their new community. They have three sons, six grandchildren and three dogs.

Joe has had a career in financial service industry since 1979, managing assets and helping others plan for lifestyle changes. He has served on several boards in Tulsa. Favorites included Clarehouse, John 3:16 Missions and Irongate. He feels blessed to have travelled the world at a young age, taking family on certain destinations.

Joined Rotary 5/2008.
Chuck received his BS at OU in 1953, a MS at the University of Tennessee in 1969, and a MS at NSU in 1988. He has lived in Grove for 31 years, and served many places during a 27 year career in the U.S. Army. Some of these locations included: Germany, Korea, and Vietnam.

After military retirement he was a broker in 4R's and Century 21 real estate offices in Grove while earning an MS in Counseling Psychology from NSU. He subsequently served as County Administrator for the Grove Office of Grand Lake Mental Health Center. He is also a member of Grove Masonic Lodge, the First Methodist church . He is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Grove Chapter 19, the Grove VFW, Vietnam Veterans of America and the Army Aviation Association Of America. He enjoys golfing, biking, and jogging.

Happy Birthday Raegan Vaughan!
Joined Rotary: 1/2017
Dr. Vaughan was born and raised in Altus, Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation, he worked in the oil and gas industry in Oklahoma City for one year before attending dental school at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. As an outstanding graduate of the Doctor of Dental Surgery program with OU, he joined Drs. Rick Miller, Stan & Audrey Crawford in practice at Grove Dental Associates in 2016. Although he enjoys the mechanical and artistic nature of dentistry, developing relationships with his patients and helping them achieve health is his real passion. Raegan's wife, Sara, is also a part of the Grove medical community as a Physician Assistant with Dr. Renee Russell at Grand Lake Primary Care. He and Sara have one daughter, Claire, who is 2 years old. Raegan enjoys spending his spare time outdoors fishing, hunting, golfing, or attending OSU sporting events. He is a firm believer in hard work, faith, honesty, integrity and loyalty.

Our club lost a great Rotarian this week. Bob Brogdon passed away, leaving behind a legacy of friendship, service, and dedication to “Service Above Self.”

Bob lived that Rotary motto in everything he touched. He gave generously of his time, his talents, and his heart to our club and our community.

We will miss his warm smile, that sparkle in his eyes, and especially his mischievous wit that could always bring a smile or a laugh.

Bob was a special part of the Grove Rotary family, and his presence will be deeply missed. His spirit of service and the memories he created with so many of us will remain a lasting part of our club.

Rest in peace, Bob. Thank you for showing us what “Service Above Self” truly means.

We were excited to welcome Travis Meyer, Chief Meteorologist for News on 6, as our guest speaker. Travis shared his expertise and gave us plenty to talk about when it comes to Oklahoma weather!

Every week, Grove Rotary brings together outstanding speakers, great catered meals, and even better fellowship. With 170 members strong, our club is a wonderful way to meet people, build friendships, and get involved in the Grove community.

Happy Birthday Thomas Riggs!
Joined Rotary 11/1997.
Born in Texas during WWII, raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and attended the University of Tulsa, University of Oklahoma, and Washington University in St. Louis with post-graduate training at Washington University and the Oklahoma Health Science Center. Married his High School girlfriend in 1964 and subsequently raised three daughters. Served in the military at Ft. Polk, La, then practiced medicine for 22 years in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and then 7 more years in Grove, Oklahoma before retiring in 2004.

Dolly Parton Day Celebrated Across Oklahoma!

Gov. Kevin Stitt proclaimed September 25 (9/25) as Dolly Parton Day in Oklahoma, and communities across the state joined in celebrating Dolly’s commitment to childhood literacy through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

Grove Rotary joined the celebration by visiting Grand Lake YMCA, Grand Panache, Grove Middle School, Goodfellas, and the Grove Public Library. Rotarians promoted the Imagination Library and helped sign up local families with children under age 5 to receive free, age-appropriate books delivered to their homes each month.

It was a wonderful day to spread the joy of reading and help put more books into the hands of Grove-area children.

Happy Birthday Murf!

He has 2 sons, 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson. He was born in Phillips Wi. and have no brothers or sisters. Family business was a Mink Ranch, and my father also had several airplanes that were used for forestry fire patrols during peak fire season as well as hauling cargo. His father passed away when he was 11 so life changed a little. He started playing the piano at the age of 4 and the cornet at 9. He played these instruments at state competition through his freshman year in college. His Cornet was well traveled as it was a special edition. It has been played from New Orleans to Vegas. In High School he formed a rock-n-roll band (Antares) of which he played the Organ and was the lead singer. The group stayed together for 4 years, and it paid for his college and first house. Our favorite gig was at the Idle Wild in Butternut Wisc. If you have seen the movie (The Blues Brothers) they do in fact throw b**r bottles at the stage if you are good. Yes, there was chicken wire just like in the movie.
Graduated from the University of Eau Claire Wi with a degree in Business and Economics. Upon graduation, went to worked for Ryerson Steel in Milwaukee Wi. for 17 years as a salesperson and then operations management. Transferred to Tulsa OK to open and run that facility and then to Kansas City. He owned my own company (Murf's Trucking--heavy haul supporting Oil industry and Heat Exchanger industries) in Tulsa from 92 to 94. In 1995 he went to work for Jorgensen Steel in St Charles Mo assisting in their merger with Kilsby Roberts. Moved back to Tulsa in 96 working for a private company, (Metals Inc) to prepare their company for potential sale. Over the course of the next 24 years Metals Inc had 7 owners and various sister companies of which he managed various components of all. He has been a VP and Director of Purchasing, Logistics, Operations, Administrations and Accounts receivable/payable.
