As a judge I have watched dozens of SPE presentations. That is where they end though. Our members put so much energy and time into creating and presenting their SPE's and are lucky if 3 people see them. I would like to see us record and utilize them in trainings as well as in some type of presentation to our members to showcase our amazing programming and projects that we do all year long.

Project Management Guide's can be useful for more than an Easter Egg Hunt or Bar Crawl. There are many ways we can use them in our lives outside of JCI. Members have used them to start up their own self-employed businesses as well as to gain funding for projects within their workplace.

Have you competed in any of our previous competitions, now renamed skill building? I have competed in every competition except Master Speak Up and was able to utilize the feedback and experience in each of these to further my skills in my professional life as well as personal (debate helps really well when you have a significant other). I would like to focus on encouraging and educating our members about how we can utilize these not to just win an award but to help us in our everyday lives.

Last year leading into this year, JCI Michigan was able to review and change some of our bylaws, policies, and procedures. It is essential that we equip our members with the knowledge of where to find these documents and support them in discussion when times change and bylaws need to be revisited and revised.
