We were thrilled to have Dylan and his friends from March return to do a food drive for us over this past weekend, they set up tables in front of Uncle Giuseppe’s and collected donations for us. As well as making sandwiches and baked goods.

We thank Dylan and his friend and all the youth groups who make sandwiches, do mini food drives and bake goods for us.

Indeed it takes a village.

Making a Difference, One Sandwich at a Time 🥪

Every week, dedicated members of the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of the Island Council #6911 come together to make 150–210 sandwiches for the Mercy Soup Kitchen in Wyandanch.

This ongoing effort is just one example of how our members put their faith into action by serving those in need and supporting our local community.

Being a Knight means being part of something bigger—building brotherhood, strengthening your faith, serving others, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around you.

As our week ends and the month of July closes out a big thank you to all our volunteers who do a little extra this time of year as a lot of people are on vacation and we are often short staffed. We served 2,845 meals this past July . Something we can all be proud of. We are blessed with our volunteers and donors. It takes a village. ❤️
