Ladies and Gentlemen, you know what time it is! It’s time for, Rotarian Spotlight!!! 🎉 On this week’s edition, we are spotlighting…*drumroll*… Mr. Joey Bachman! *Insert Cheers here*

Joe is an Eastern York SD grad, class of 1980, and a York College of Pennsylvania class of 1984 alumni. He is semi-retired and is working part time with Visiting Angels. For 39 years, Joe worked in retail management for K-mart, Dollar-General, and HomeGoods.

He is married to his wife, Ethel, of 26 years. He has a son, Brandon, who resides right here in Wrightsville. His daughter, Brianne and Son-in-Law, Taylor, along with their kids, (Joe’s grandkids), Jordi Rae, Briggston, and Tenleigh, currently reside in Ft. Myers FL.

Joe’s hobbies/ interests include helping others. He is the director of the Eastern York work Camp Initiative and Director of the Evolve Life Group. He also delivers Meals on Wheels. Joe enjoys watching game show and food network. Joey loves the Pirates, Steelers, and 76ers.

He joined Rotary because of the motto, “Service above Self” and has been a Rotarian for almost 2 years! Joe likes Rotary because of the ability to help people in our community, nationally, and internationally. In our own club, he enjoys the friendships and working beside fellow Rotarians to do good in our community.

It is worth noting, that Joe has been on 17 Mission Trips, and was in youth ministry for more than 40 years! (Just don’t ask him who the youth pastor was 😉)

Also, he LOVES The Bee Gees!

This evening, our club welcomed King's Butcher Shop! We were able to hear a little bit about their story, what they do, and products/services they offer. As a club, we are very big on supporting our local small businesses. If you’re ever in the Wrightsville area, be sure to stop in and support their business! Also, be sure to try their Deer hot dogs! As our Rotarian, Bill, would say, they’re the best! We thank King’s Butcher Shop for their service to the Wrightsville community!

We also heard a classification speech from our Rotarian, Kristen! (Not shown 😞). We were able to learn about who she is, what she does, and why she joined Rotary. She comes from a family of Firefighters, so Kristen knows a thing or two about “Service Above Self”. Since she is part of the membership committee, she plays a vital role in the growth of our club and also planning fun activities for us to do as well. Thank you, Kristen, for all you do for our club, and we’re happy to have you in Rotary!

It’s time for another edition of ROTARIAN SPOTLIGHT! 🎉

Today, we are featuring, Chris Leiphart!

Chris is 66 years old and worked for PennDot from 1980-2015, before retiring. From 1997-Present Day, he works in Real Estate. He was involved with Wrightsville Youth Sports from 1992-2005.

Chris is married to his wife, Trina, has a daughter, Lindsey, and a son, Tim. Outside of Rotary, Chris enjoys Golf, Camping, and Community Service.

If you ask him why he joined Rotary, he will say he is community minded. Ken Stoner, Walt Dixon, and Al Kaplan talked him into joining Rotary after his involvement with youth sports ended. Chris has been a Rotarian for 19 years and likes Rotary for its motto, Service above self, and meeting People! He has previously served as club president from 2017-2020 and is the organizer for the annual Ken Stoner Memorial Golf Tournament, in which our club helps with. We thank Chris for all he has done, and continues to do, for our club and community!

Our rotarian, Cora Rowe snapped this picture of the victory tree our club planted at the Hellam Township Building/Kreutz Creek Library as a part of the initiative commemorating America's 250th birthday. This is one of the 8 trees planted by our club in Eastern York County. Nice to see our efforts are thriving!
