Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association We are on a mission to keep our river and the Bay clean, healthy, and full of life — because the river runs through all of us.

Ted Evgeniadis serves as both Lower Susquehanna RIVERKEEPER and the Executive Director for LSRA. The Lower Susquehanna RIVERKEEPER® (LSR) works as an alliance builder, diplomat, and educator, but also, when the situation calls for it, an unrelenting defender and advocate of our right and the river’s right to be healthy and prosperous. The LSR utilizes education, chemical and biological monitoring,

pollution patrols, partnership building, public events, research and legal action to improve the health of the Susquehanna’s waterways. LSR assists the government by reporting non compliance of the law, and follows through where environmental protection agencies are unable to do their job due to politics or funding issue

Bacteria Monitoring Results are in!

We provide a snapshot of these Water Quality Recreational Recommendations to you based upon EPA RWQC Recreational Water Quality Criteria. Our program lets you know if these popular public river/creek accesses are safe for recreating, or not AND with the hope to bring attention to water quality in our watershed.💧

Although we hope that water quality is safe all the time, that's simply not the case especially during weather events when bacteria may enter streams and rivers through sewage overflows, improper treatment of waste, runoff of animal waste, and other ways. Please note, water quality is always changing, and these results only reflect the Escherichia coli (E.coli) MPN values of the samples we collected on the date and time we collected them. We are measuring E. coli counts using the IDEXX Colilert 18 Method.

Last night Fox 43 came out to Codorus Creek in York city to profile LSRA's Greener Codorus Initiative. Here's what it is:

- An effort led by LSRA to cut back vegetation along the creek in order to avoid the need to spray pesticides;

- A commitment to protecting our water, people, and wildlife from toxins;

- A w**d wacker's, brush hacker's, River lover's happy place 👩‍🌾🧑‍🌾

- Hard, rewarding work that we need volunteers to help us with now thru November 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪

- Supported by York County Community Foundation 💙

School of Rock is a performance-focused music school. School of Rock House Band is comprised of music students ages 11 to 18. This band is audition-based and gives music students the opportunity to join a gigging band composed of fellow musicians from their school. Students perform live shows throughout the community.
