I have some very exciting news I would like to share with you. Some of you may be aware, God has called me to plant a new church in an area called Green Acres. Since its inception a little over a year ago, Front Porch Project has seen individuals come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, families growing in their faith, as well as physical and emotional needs met throughout the community. One couple, by way of our outreach events, accepted God’s perfect gift of salvation and are now attending services regularly with a desire for a more intimate relationship with their Creator. In addition, they are attending our weekly leadership training classes. This couple is becoming a vibrant part of Front Porch Project and want to make an impact for His Kingdom, starting with our Summer 5000 program.
The Summer 5000 initiative is to serve five thousand meals to children over forty days of summer. We have scheduled 40 hours of Bible study, 20 hours of worship, 20 hours of arts and crafts, and 15 hours of drama. There will be two event days to aid us in connecting with parents.
This project and the next phase of this plant are exceeding our budget. I have wanted to ask you to be involved from the beginning and have not been able to formulate an opportunity to present to you. Now we are growing out of our ability to keep growing and even maintain our momentum without some outside help. Our current situation is, we have four strong families that have joined our leadership training team and it is exciting how God is growing us up together. I and Cristian Vasquez, the NAMB (North American Mission Board) missionary intern, are teaching and preaching three meetings a week and discipling one on one during the week. We must move our Sunday meeting place as the Church that owns the building will be starting a Sunday youth program in that space. In order to do Summer 5000 and maintain the momentum we need to find a new meeting place. There are two options and the cost will be $500 - $700 more than we are currently paying. We need partners to help us over this hurdle.
We would like to ask you and/or your church if you would be willing to partner with us financially and prayerfully in order to share the Gospel with the children and families in the Green Acres community. Our immediate need is for the summer, but we are also looking for those who will invest in this ministry long-term as well. Would you be willing to help us move forward? Prayer is always first, your presence in a missionary aspect would be tremendous you financial assistance would be honored and humbling as this work needs outside support to help this new church plant/start become a self-sustaining member of the global church a part of the Body of Christ.
