What does courage look like? 💭

For 1st Lt. Mackenzie Collins, it means using her voice and her platform to help others. While serving as an operations officer with the 88th Force Support Squadron at Wright-Patterson AFB, Collins is also working in the community to raise awareness about human trafficking and support survivors in the Dayton area.

Her impact goes beyond the uniform—showing how Airmen can make a difference both on and off duty.

On 14 March 2026, the Miami Valley Military Affairs Association (MVMAA) was incredibly honored to be awarded the Air Force Raincross Commander's Public Service Award at the 445th Airlift Wing Annual Awards Banquet (held at the National Museum of the United States Air Force, Wright-Patterson AFB).

The Raincross Commander's Public Service Award recognizes civilians for outstanding contributions to the United States Air Force Reserve units.

MVMAA provided direct support to the 445th AW during the Wing’s OPERATION HONOR Flight in 2025, a major and highly visible Wing project. Dayton’s 20th anniversary HONOR FLIGHT was a unique mission taking 166 Vietnam and Korean War veterans from WPAFB to Andrews AFB onboard two C-17 Globemaster III military aircraft to see their national war memorials in Washington, D.C.

Douglas Perry Jr and 445th Airlift Wing Command Chief CMSgt Gordon Wager.)

Join us on March 9 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force for a commemoration of the United States-United Kingdom partnership and the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
In honor of this event, the Museum’s Hawker Hurricane Mk IIa will be open for viewing. This is an extraordinary opportunity to get a close-up look at one of the types flown by Americans flying with the RAF, an aircraft rarely opened by the Museum for public viewing.
Our mission is to honor the first ten Americans who fought for Britain in her darkest hour, sacrificing their U.S. citizenship to fly with the Royal Air Force against the Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain, July – October 1940. Included in the ten was P/O C.E. Davis from Ohio.
Tickets are $25 each.

The Air Force Museum Foundation gratefully acknowledges Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP for their support of this event.

Effective immediately, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base has suspended the Trusted Traveler Program to ensure the safety and security of personnel, visitors, and facilities.

Under the updated procedures, all vehicle occupants must present a valid DoD identification (e.g., Common Access Card, Registered Real ID, VA Benefits Card, Visitor’s Pass, Etc.) at the gate. Those without valid identification will need to visit the 88th Security Forces Pass and Registration Office to be vetted and issued a base visitor’s pass.

To minimize potential delays at the gates, all occupants are encouraged to have their identification cards or passes ready for inspection.

The Pass and Registration Office is located at 4185 Logistics Avenue, Bldg. 286, in Area A. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After-hours passes may be obtained at the gate.

The Trusted Traveler Program allowed uniformed service members, their dependents (over age 16), DoD employees, and retired uniformed service members and spouses with valid DoD identification cards to vouch for vehicle occupants entering the installation.

For more information on obtaining a visitor’s pass, visit: https://www.wpafb.af.mil/Welcome/Fact-Sheets/Display/Article/3203609/88-abw-pass-registration-office/
