🌱 This month, we’ll hear from Patrick, one of our early child participants who is now well on his way to adulthood. Patrick and his sister Aggie have been serving with Seeds of Caring since the very beginning, with a special passion for supporting unhoused neighbors by making and delivering sack lunches.

Dear Seeds of Caring,

Looking back on the impact Seeds of Caring has had on my life, I could not have chosen a better organization to be involved with. Starting when I was only 5 years old, I have learned the value of kids serving in their communities. What once seemed like just an afternoon activity of making a few sandwiches for a local shelter has become a way of life for me.

The organization has allowed me to recognize that kids are able to make a great impact in their communities, whether that’s drawing an encouragement picture on a lunch bag or collectively making thousands of lunches for people experiencing hunger. Thank you, Seeds of Caring, for being the bridge between eager kids and communities who need their help!

Through our partnership with Seeds of Caring, the Artina Choose Kind Foundation has proudly contributed more than $20,000 to help inspire the next generation of changemakers. Together, we've helped create opportunities for over 2,000 children to learn empathy, kindness, and service while supporting meaningful volunteer experiences in our community.

Hello, friends! It’s June 1st and we’ve got some service opportunities to start your summer off right! Here are a few ideas:

🏳️‍🌈 PRIDE and Care: Hygiene Care Kit Assembly with Kaleidoscope Youth Center
Let’s celebrate PRIDE and show we care on Saturday, June 27th when kids and their grown-ups will learn how to be an active ally and pack hygiene kits for LGBTQIA+ youth who are supported by Kaleidoscope Youth Center! This is a FREE event with all supplies provided. Join us!

🎶 Celebrating YOU and Do-Re-ME with Life Builders
On June 18, if the Westerville Public Library’s rockin' don’t come a-knockin'…just come right in and join us for an hour of music, fun, and community building for all! Our favorite folk singer, Joanie Calem, will lead us in song and activities promoting the themes of friendship, inclusion, and the power we all have to make a difference regardless of age or ability. Free event and walk-ins are welcome!

🥪 Sack Lunches for Hungry Neighbors with The Open Shelter (Columbus, Ohio) and St. Stephen's Community House
Even in the warmer months, some of our neighbors who are having a hard time right now depend on services like free lunches from local shelters and day services.
