We were thrilled to launch our first In Person event with Worthington Resource Pantry this past weekend! Twenty compassionate kids joined us to learn about food insecurity and discover the many ways Worthington Resource Pantry supports neighbors across eight (!!) local zip codes.

Together, we toured the pantry, organized shelves, wrapped diapers for distribution, and assembled 130 Keep Cool Kits for upcoming Pop-Up Pantries. These pop-up events bring food and essential resources directly to neighbors living in transitional housing, helping reduce barriers to access.

What a meaningful Saturday of learning, service, and community impact. Thank you to Worthington Resource Pantry for partnering with us. We can't wait to be back!

Have your kids ever done a service project but didn't quite understand who they were helping or why help was needed? We can help!

Seeds of Caring projects are tailored to kids ages 2-12 and always include an educational component to add background and meaning to the hands-on work. That way, we can empower kids to use their hearts 💚, hands 🙌 and minds 💭 to create a kinder community!

We’re excited to kick off a new partnership with Westerville Parks and Recreation focused on helping families take action for the environment! 🌿

On April 11, we hosted our first event together and welcomed 57 participants, including 35 incredible kids, for a morning of hands-on learning and environmental stewardship. Kids explored the outdoors on a nature notice walk; observing, drawing, and connecting with the world around them before diving into a game about invasive species. Then, they put their learning into action by helping remove garlic mustard to support a healthier local ecosystem.

We’re so grateful to Westerville Parks and Recreation for partnering with us to create meaningful, family-friendly opportunities that inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.

And we’re just getting started! Join us for our next event, Park Prep Crew, on June 3 👉 https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1988341864040?aff=oddtdtcreator

We had an amazing first event with Hilliard Food Pantry and we’re so excited about this new partnership! 💛

On April 25, 22 kids rolled up their sleeves to support neighbors facing food insecurity. Together, they assembled 150 dental hygiene kits, organized supplies for distribution, and helped start the process of pre-packaging additional hygiene kits. They also created cheer cards, took a behind-the-scenes tour, and read a children’s book to better understand the challenges many families face.

It was a meaningful day of learning and service—and we’re just getting started!

Join us for our next event, Pantry Helpers, on Saturday, June 20. Families will help organize donations, prepare food kits, and learn how local pantries support our community.

✨ All supplies provided
✨ FREE to participate

Better late than never, because impact like this never gets old! 💛

Back in March, we partnered with amazing kids across Columbus for our Nourishing New Neighbors Anywhere Project, and we’re excited to highlight one group that helped bring it to life.

Led by Eliza Howey, kids, ages 4-12 from David's UCC - Canal Wi******er raised nearly $1,000 and created 140 pasta meal kits for new American neighbors through our partnership with Festa.

This group was part of something even bigger:

- Across Columbus, 250 kids participated
- Together, they collected 660 meal kits
- 465 kits supported families through Festa
- 195 kits went to Community Refugee and Immigration Services (CRIS), reaching elementary students and families asking for food support

Festa shared that families were “so appreciative,” with cars filled to deliver even more across the community. And CRIS noted many kits went directly to students and families who truly needed them.

This is what happens when young people are empowered to care, give, and lead.

🎥 Check out the video below created by the David’s UCC group to see the impact in action!

We couldn’t wait to share this 💛

Earlier this year, kids participating in our MLK Day of Youth Service used their voices to share what they’d like to see in our community.

They wrote letters to Mayor Andrew J. Ginther about issues that matter to them—and he took the time to respond.

As he shared with our youth, speaking up takes courage—and by writing these letters, they’re already leading.

These young changemakers spoke up, and their voices were heard. Way to go!

🌱 Seeds of Caring has never grown alone. From the very beginning, our impact has been made possible by the people and organizations who have chosen to grow alongside us. What started as a single partnership (our very first event with a senior living community) has blossomed into something far greater than we could have imagined. Today, we’ve partnered with dozens of senior residences, bringing thousands of children and older adults together in meaningful, joy-filled connection. That first seed of intergenerational kindness continues to bear fruit in ways that still inspire us.

Over the past 10 years, more than 200 schools have welcomed Seeds of Caring into their classrooms, and over 100 nonprofit organizations have partnered with us—sharing their missions, opening doors, and helping young people understand real community needs while becoming part of the solution. We are especially grateful to be in partnership with deeply rooted organizations like The Columbus Foundation’s Center for HumanKindness, which connects our work to a broader movement of kindness across Central Ohio and reminds us we are part of something bigger. They have helped Seeds of Caring grow thanks to their steadfast, multi-year support and funding.

As we reflect on the past decade, one truth stands clear: every program, every connection, every moment of impact has been shaped by partnership. Together, we’ve cultivated something powerful. And we’re just getting started.
