You may notice this sign in our Worthington Resource Pantry plot within the McCord garden. We were lucky enough to receive fifteen five gallon buckets of compost donated by community members who utilize Compost Exchange for their food scraps ♻️ Thank you!

What an opening day! It wasn’t too hot, we got a little wet, ZooBrew is almost all distributed, our native plant bed is weeded and mulched, gardeners connected and had great conversations! 🤩

🪏 🌱 Garden “Opening Day” is this Saturday, April 18. If you ordered ZooBrew, it’ll be ready for you then.

Don’t forget to pay Marc for ZooBrew and the community center for your annual plot fee!!

Here is the procedure for measuring out your ZooBrew amount: 40 buckets = 1 yard of compost. Three buckets or so usually fills a wheelbarrow. Most people will dump three buckets into the wheelbarrow, "eyeball" how much is in the wheelbarrow and then you won't need to use the buckets each time, just fill to the previous level.

ONLY 10 DAYS ... until the first day of spring on Friday, March 20, 2026. This is the official vernal equinox and kicks off Springs arrival in the Northern hemisphere. Gardeners know the true "planting season" begins after the last frost date, not the first day of spring.
