A GRANDPARENT IN EVERY ELEMENTARY CLASSROOM.

That has been the dream of our Circle of Grandparents program for more than 25 years. Circle of Grandparents began during the 1999-2000 school year and continues to bring caring adult role models into elementary classrooms throughout Worthington.

Every month, volunteers share stories and lessons about respect, empathy, perseverance, courage, and responsibility and more.

In a world that often feels disconnected, these relationships matter.

But programs like Circle of Grandparents don’t happen on their own.

Partners for Community and Character is seeking volunteers with experience in fundraising, grant writing, sponsorships, and nonprofit leadership to help ensure this program continues for future generations.

WHAT MAKES WORTHINGTON… WORTHINGTON?

For nearly 30 years, Partners for Community and Character has helped strengthen the values that make our community special. Since 1997, we’ve worked to promote character, connection, service, and respect throughout Worthington.

From Circle of Grandparents volunteers serving in elementary classrooms to Character in Action students teaching younger children through skits and storytelling, our programs are built around one simple belief:

Strong communities are built by people of good character.

Today, we’re at a critical point and need community members willing to help sustain this work through fundraising, grant writing, sponsorship development, and board service.

Partners for Community and Character is at a critical moment and we’re asking our community to help us continue the work that has impacted generations in Worthington.

For more than 30 years, PCC has supported programs that strengthen connection, compassion, character, and community. Through initiatives like Circle of Grandparents and Character in Action, we’ve worked to bridge generations, recognize character-driven leadership, and create meaningful opportunities for people to care for one another.

Today, we are in urgent need of volunteer support from individuals with experience in:
• Fundraising
• Grant writing
• Sponsorship development
• Community partnerships
• Donor outreach

We are a 100% volunteer-led nonprofit board and every dollar raised goes directly toward supporting our mission and programs.

What we need most right now are people who believe in building stronger communities and are willing to share their time, talents, and expertise to help us sustain and grow this work.

We're proud to offer a $1,000 award recognizing two graduating Worthington High School seniors who demonstrate one or more of the PCC Character Qualities of the month.
All Worthington high school seniors are eligible for this award and anyone can submit a nomination.
The nomination window will be open until March 2.
