Y’all, I’m hearing something crazy lately. I’m hearing our NIMBY friends are *already* starting to try and undermine the Comprehensive Plan. Trying to silence our community’s voices before we can even be heard. Already! It hasn’t even started yet!

The National Housing Crisis Task Force released the first tranche of tools in its State and Local Housing Action Plan that have the greatest potential to transform state and local housing ecosystems and rapidly expanding housing production and preservation.

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) have been used as a tool to increase affordable housing options, support multigenerational living, generate income for homeowners, and promote sustainable land use. However, challenges such as zoning restrictions, financing barriers, and a lack of public awareness have limited their development in our community.

Planning around multimodal transit options gives residents choice and makes a community more inclusive in case the dominant mode of transit isn’t a choice. As Worthington begins its Comprehensive Planning process we hope Transit Oriented Development zoning is part of the solution.
