Al-Nahda Center hosted a roundtable discussion on the Pre-Islamic Arabic Calendar, presented by Professor Hisham Abad.

The presentation was followed by an engaging discussion attended by scholars, physicians, communication experts, scientists, and community members. The discussion also featured astronomers and physicists who joined online.

The roundtable is part of the Nahda Book Club, an ongoing series featuring a new guest and a new topic each time, creating a space for knowledge, dialogue, and intellectual exchange.

يتقدم مركز النهضة بأسمى آيات التهنئة والتبريك للأستاذة الفاضلة نورا، عضو فريق النهضة، بمناسبة إتمامها بحمد الله وفضله حفظ كتاب الله الكريم، حيث كانت اليوم خاتمة الجزء الأخير من القرآن الكريم.

وقد واصلت الأستاذة نورا، على مدى أكثر من ثلاثة أشهر، قراءة القرآن الكريم غيبًا بشكل يومي، حزبًا أو حزبين، على فضيلة الشيخ المغربي يوسف إشباني من مدينة فاس – المملكة المغربية، وذلك عن طريق التواصل عبر تطبيق الواتساب، في رحلة مباركة من الجد والاجتهاد والمثابرة.

وإن مركز النهضة ليفخر ويعتز بهذا الإنجاز المبارك لأختنا الفاضلة، ويعتبره نموذجًا مشرفًا للعطاء والحرص على كتاب الله، سائلين المولى عز وجل أن يجعل القرآن الكريم نورًا في قلبها، ورفعةً في درجاتها، وحجةً لها لا عليها، وأن يوفقها للعمل به وتعليمه وخدمة كتاب الله.

كما نسأل الله أن يجعل هذا القرآن تاجًا على رأس والديها، وأن يلبسهما به حلل الكرامة يوم القيامة، وأن يجزيهما عنها خير الجزاء.

وبهذه المناسبة المباركة، يسر مركز النهضة أن يعلن عن عزمه تكريم أختنا الفاضلة الأستاذة نورا تقديرًا لهذا الإنجاز المبارك، وسيتم إعلامكم بموعد وتفاصيل التكريم في حينه، بإذن الله.

مركز النهضة يستضيف الدكتور محمود محافظة في لقاء توعوي حول الوقاية من السرطان

استضاف مركز النهضة في لقائه الشهري، مساء اليوم الأربعاء، الدكتور محمود محافظة، أخصائي الأورام السرطانية. حيث خُصص لقاء هذا الشهر للتوعية الصحية، وتحديدًا الوقاية والحماية من السرطان والعوامل المرتبطة به.

وتناول الدكتور محافظة طبيعة مرض السرطان وآليات تطوره، باعتباره حالة تنمو فيها خلايا الجسم بطريقة غير منضبطة أو منتظمة على نحو مخالف لما برمجت عليه خلية الإنسان. وسلط محافظة الضوء على على العوامل التي تزيد من خطورة الإصابة بهذا المرض، وفي مقدمتها التدخين وتعاطي الكحول والنظام الغذائي غير الصحي والتوتر والقلق. من جهة أخرى، حث على أهمية ممارسة الرياضة بانتظام، بمعدل 30 إلى 35 دقيقة يوميًا على الأقل، واتباع نمط غذائي يركز على الأغذية النباتية ويقلل من اللحوم والأطعمة الحيوانية.

وفي معرض رده على أسئلة الحضور حول نظام الطيبات الذي شاع الحديث عنه مؤخراً في العالم العربي، أعرب محافظة عن عدم اقتناعه بهذا النظام وشكك في منطقيّته ومعقوليته، مؤكداً أن ثمة علاقة وثيقة ومثبتة طبياً بين السكر والسرطان من جهة، وبين اللحوم الحمراء والسرطان من جهة أخرى. كما شرح الفرق بين الأورام الحميدة والخبيثة، واستعرض جانبًا من أبحاثه وتجاربه العلمية في دراسة السرطان.

وأدار اللقاء الأستاذ غسان بلوط، المدير التنفيذي لمركز النهضة، الذي رحّب بالضيف واستعرض أبرز محطات مسيرته العلمية والمهنية.

من الجدير بالذكر أن الدكتور محمود محافظة اختصاصي أمراض الدم والأورام، ويمتلك خبرة تزيد على 30 عامًا في علاج السرطان وأمراض الدم لدى البالغين. تخرّج في كلية الطب بالجامعة الأردنية، وأكمل تدريبه التخصصي في الولايات المتحدة، وله إسهامات وازنة في البحث العلمي والتعليم الطبي، إلى جانب اهتمامه

Nahda Center Hosts Dr. Mahmoud Mahafzah for a Cancer Prevention Awareness Session

Nahda Center hosted Dr. Mahmoud Mahafzah this evening for its monthly awareness session, focusing on cancer prevention and associated risk factors.

Dr. Mahafzah discussed the nature and development of cancer, highlighting major risk factors including smoking, alcohol consumption, and an unhealthy diet. He also emphasized the importance of regular exercise—at least 30–35 minutes a day—and a predominantly plant-based diet with reduced consumption of meat and animal-based foods.

In response to questions from attendees about the Al-Tayyibat diet, Dr. Mahafzah expressed reservations about the approach and discussed the relationship between sugar and cancer. He also explained the difference between benign and malignant tumors and shared insights from his research and experience in cancer studies.

The session was moderated by Mr. Ghassan Ballut, Executive Director of Nahda Center, who welcomed Dr. Mahafzah and highlighted key milestones in his academic and professional career.

Dr. Mahmoud Mahafzah is a hematology and oncology specialist with more than 20 years of experience treating adult cancers and blood disorders. He earned his medical degree from the University of Jordan and completed his specialized training in the United States. He has contributed to medical research and education and remains engaged with advances in cancer treatment.
