Volunteers Needed for FFA & 4-H Contests @ NILE!

The NILE is looking for volunteers to help with the NILE FFA & 4-H Contests such as, Livestock Evaluation, Vet Science, Horse Evaluation & Meats Evaluation. No experience needed, we will teach you!

Livestock Evaluation:

Date: 10/12/2026
10-15 volunteers needed
Time of arrival: 7am
Location: Expo Center Show Ring
Contest Time: 7:30am-1:30pm (approximately)

Vet Science:

Date: 10/12/2026
15-20 volunteers needed
Time of arrival: 2:30pm
Location: First Interstate Arena Announcers Stand
Contest Time: 3-6pm (approximately)

Horse Evaluation & Meats Evaluation:

Date: 10/13/2026
Horse: 10 volunteers needed
Meats: 5-7 volunteers needed
Time of arrival: 8:30am

This past Saturday, Huntley Project FFA had the opportunity to work the Lil’ Rockies Snack Shack alongside Huntley Project FCCLA, who served up some refreshing lemonade, during the annual Beef, Beets & Barley event.
The funds raised through the Snack Shack go directly toward helping offset student travel expenses throughout the year, making opportunities like FFA events, competitions, and activities more accessible for our students.
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support us, grab a snack, and help support our students! We truly appreciate our community and the continued support you show our programs.
And a special thank you to Misti and Frank Weigum for their continued support of both Huntley Project FFA and FCCLA. We are grateful for everything you do for our students and our programs!

Huntley Project FFA hosted DLS for the south Eastern District this year having a total of 212 members and our chapter had a record attendance of 52 members!
At DLS they come to learn more about leadership while also having tons of fun. Four of the state officers came in to teach us about communication, listening, and how to become a strong leader.
We also want to give a big thank you to our admin, athletic director, and lunch ladies for making this a success!

Last week, seven members represented Huntley Project FFA at Montana Range Days in Malta. During the event, they partipated in workshops and tested their knowledge about plant identification, soils, ecology, and rangeland management. Their participation reflects a committment to building the knowledge and skill needed to care for Montana's largest natural resource - rangeland - for generations to come.

This weekend a group of our FFA members attended ALC! We took a record number of 11 members this year.
This was a great experience pushing them all to step out of their comfort zones, expand to new horizons and become better versions of themselves. From all of the amazing workshops to the unforgettable activities, they all made memories that they will hold onto forever.

Today, the Huntley Project FFA put on Farm Days! We invited elementary students, K-4, to the practice football field and our greenhouse to play various games and learn about agriculture. All stations were led by HP FFA Members and many volunteers from our school and community.

The stations include:
Planting, Where children planted seeds and labeled them to grow in our greenhouse.

Egg Obstacle Course, Where kids learn to take their time to complete a simple course with an egg on a spoon. They learn about eggs and how they get from the farm to your plate.

Farmer Frenzy, similar to the game of Lovers Leap, kids gather in a circle with a partner and when an action is called the kids must complete the action in a timely manner.

“Sheep Herding”, children have numbered balloons and have to get all of their balloons in a respective pen before the other team.

Stick Horse Barrel Racing, kids have stick horses and are racing around barrels and trying to beat others to the finish line. They are also learning about rodeo and the possibilities of agriculture.

Various animal stations, these include, Sheep, Goats, Ducks, and Pigs. Kids are asked about the animals and learn about different parts of the animal and what they mean to the world of agriculture.

Finally, a fire safety station by the Worden Fire Department, they came to teach the elementary students about fire safety and what to do inc ase something goes wrong, and let children use the fire hose to extinguish a fake fire. A huge thank you to them for coming out and keeping our community safe!
