Simon Says Give®is a kid-founded and kid-led nonprofit organization founded in Minnesota in 2012 by 8-year-old Mandi Simon. The mission of Simon Says Give is Kids Celebrating Kids® and Simon Says Give–Worcester does that in two ways for at need kids: an annual High Five For Supplies® drive to provide middle school backpacks filled with supplies to graduating elementary school students and birthday

celebrations for kids ages 5-12. Our Mission: To develop the next generation of leaders to be unstoppable. Our Goal: To impact 2 million kids by 2022. This first MA Chapter was founded in Fall 2016 in Worcester and officially started its work in 2017.

Congratulations to our third and final kid president, Julianna Fisher, for taking up the legacy of SImon Says Give - Worcester by starting her own initiative, Give and Care Worcester (GAC Worcester) this spring! She raised enough money to provide amazing Case It Binders and all the supplies the sixth grade graduates of Burncoat Prep Elementary School will need for middle school next fall, 25 ESL students at Forest Grove the same thing, at least 15 students at / & Girls Club of Worcester as well, and supplies for dozens of students at Burncoat Middle School - almost 100 students in all! Julianna, you are amazing. We are sooooo proud of you and amazed at your heart, dedication, and initiative! We love you! Cari-Lynn Gershman Fisher

Well this it, folks. After a few delays, we got to celebrate our 263rd and final birthday kid and he was as delightful as can be. Our founder, mentor, and first kid presidents, Simon, came home from college to make the presentation of gifts of need (winter boots that look like basketball shoes), fun (a basketball and a Celtics shirt as a bonus), Annie's Kindness Blankets, and of course a basketball cake from the magnificent The Queen's Cups, plus a few other special things to celebrate. Thank you to all the people who helped us celebrate this young man and all the other kids since April 2018. It's been a wonderful ride! Happy birthday! Boys & Girls Club of Worcester

Way to go Morgan Lynn. We are so proud of you!

Way to go Morgan Lynn. We are so proud of you!

⭐ Morgan Blundell, 12th Grade Scholar at Worcester Technical High School ⭐

“Morgan has volunteered her free time with the local non-profit, Simon Says Give-Worcester, since 2018. During this time she helped fundraise, prepare and deliver over 1,500 backpacks & binders to rising middle schoolers. She has also helped to deliver or host Birthday parties for underprivileged children 12 and under, who wouldn't otherwise have one. She was the first applicant for their Kid Advisory Board, and held a 2 year tenure as President of the Worcester organization. Aside from that, she attains great grades academically and does amazing in her carpentry shop, in which she and her peers also built a house in the city. She exemplifies kindness, community, and brilliance.”

This work demonstrates that Morgan is an Engaged Community Member, a disposition of the Vision of a Learner framework, as she identified needs in the community and developed an action plan to address these needs (EC.M2).

It is with a heavy but full heart that I share the bittersweet news that after eight years, 4,100+ middle school students served, 250+ birthday kids celebrated, and thousands of youth volunteer and leadership hours generated for hundreds of kids, the Worcester chapter of Simon Says Give will be closing. We will deliver one more birthday in January and our work will come to an end.

In 2016 when I started the Worcester chapter, it was a response to the need I saw around me. With the help of my parents, I was able to build an organization that served all of Worcester. We customized our school supplies program to serve middle schoolers who are often left out of supply drives, and each birthday was delivered by a kid and came personalized cakes and gifts. With the support of the wonderful Mandi and Dina Simon who founded the organization in 2012 in Minnesota, we supported 160 students and celebrated four birthdays that first year. Still, we didn’t know if our chapter would make it more than a few years. But we continued to serve and grow thanks to the dedication and continued presence and the support of so many amazing humans from my parents, Jim and Amy; Morgan and Julianna (and their families) who took over as kid presidents when I left for college; Mylo, Chloe, Natalie, Brendan, Giselle, Ysabel, Finlay, Ellie, and Dontae who served as kid advisory board members; our hundreds of volunteers; our partners, especially our friends at Annie's Kindness Blankets, Boys & Girls Club of Worcester, Bay State Savings, Webster Five, DCU for Kids, DA Joe Early’s office, 508foreveryoung, This Star Won't Go Out, Saint John's High School, and The Queen's Cups; and our thousands of individual and corporate/foundation donors. We could never have done any of it without you!

When I was 13, I could have never imagined what Simon Says Give –Worcester would come to mean. In saying goodbye, I remember the countless smiles we have shared with the kids we served, the laughs with kid advisory board members who feel more like siblings, and the way people across Worcester welcomed us into their schools and homes. Though our work is done, I hope many future leaders will be the kids we served and helped celebrate.

All it takes is a willingness to see the world around you, having a big heart, and remembering building a community takes active participation. Kindness is contagious and love knows no age.

Thank you from all of us for letting us serve our city and its kids for these eight years.

Another terrific November birthday kid delivered by our kid president, Julianna. We LOVED this kid and his wonderful mom. He flipped for his soccer cake from The Queen's Cups, gifts like a Stanley drinking mug and sweatshirt and of course his Annie's Kindness Blankets, and soccer party set up. Happy birthday, young man! We were thrilled to help you and your family celebrate you! Boys & Girls Club of Worcester

This beautiful girl's family has been through a lot recently. We were so happy Boys & Girls Club of Worcester sent her our way to celebrate her 11th birthday. Julianna loved meeting her and showing her all we brought. We got her a fuzzy red hoodie and pink coat for winter along with her Annie's Kindness Blankets, a makeup kit, and of course a magnificent cake from The Queen's Cups to go with her party decorations and game. Happy birthday, kiddo! So delighted to meet you.

We were all full for birthdays this fall when we got a heartfelt plea unlike any other from the mom of this beautiful girl, and we wanted to help with her spooky fifth birthday. Boy are we glad we did. The light this child and her family shines is special. Our former kid president Morgan loved her so much she even stayed a while last Saturday to help set up in Elm Park and play with her. We think this girl's smiles with Morgan and her face seeing her cake from The Queen's Cups and all her gifts especially her Annie's Kindness Blankets will light up the world. Happy birthday!
