‼️‼️‼️‼️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🎊🎊
I am humbled and deeply honored that Uhai for Health has been recognized as African Nonprofit Organization of the Year. Thank you, MOAD, for celebrating the work we do supporting African immigrants and refugees in our community. We are incredibly grateful to our City Mayor and our State Senators for presenting us with the Key to the City of Worcester — the place we proudly call home.

Thank to the incredible women who attended our Annual High Tea! We are deeply grateful to our speaker, Dr. Lo**ta Hanley, and to our sponsors — Dr. Crista Johnson-Agwabu, Spe, and the City of Worcester Health & Human Services. Special thanks to members of the women clergy, community leaders, and the Uhai family for showing up in large numbers. We were honored to welcome women from East, West, and Central Africa and the Caribbean. Our theme: Reset, Reflect, Rejuvenate. See you next year!

Uhai Family! Please join me in congratulating Dr. Bannor!
Last year, he invited our community to participate in his important study, “An examination of African immigrants with overweight or obesity: weight, lifestyle behaviors, and body image following immigration.”
We are excited to share that his manuscript has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities — a major milestone for research that centers African immigrant experiences and health.
I am deeply humbled that Dr. Bannor credited Uhai in the manuscript and included me as an author. Thank you for allowing me to represent Uhai in this meaningful work.
Most importantly, I am grateful that our community’s voice and our collective efforts are now published in a journal dedicated to racial and ethnic health equity — the very heartbeat of what we do at Uhai for Health.
Congratulations, Dr. Bannor! And thank you to everyone who participated and continues to uplift this work.
