🐾🦒 Yesterday, we sent 213 campers to the Akron Zoo, and what a day it was!

The weather was beautiful, the animals were active, and even the snow leopards decided to make an appearance! From watching the penguins play to exploring exhibits with friends, our campers packed a lot of adventure into one day.

Trips like these are just one of the many reasons YMCA Summer Camp is so much fun. Every day brings new experiences, new friendships, and memories that will last long after summer ends.

We may have come home tired, but we also came home with plenty of stories to tell! ☀️🐒🦁

Week 2 Counselor of the Week: Ms. Maddie!

We are excited to recognize Ms. Maddie as our Week 2 Counselor of the Week! Her growth from last summer to this year has been truly incredible. She has stepped into a leadership role with grace, patience, and a calm presence that has made a positive impact on our campers every day.

Ms. Maddie has also gone above and beyond by helping parents at pickup and closing, always making sure families have what they need. Her dedication, kindness, and willingness to help do not go unnoticed.

We are so proud of Ms. Maddie and can’t wait to see all the amazing things she continues to accomplish this summer!

This spring, we had the opportunity to send Brenna Lanneaux, Lauren Grifo, and Aurora Metz to Leadership Launchpad, hosted by the Ohio Alliance of YMCAs.

Brenna and Lauren serve as Childcare Directors at our preschool locations, and Aurora is our Gymnastics Coordinator. During the program, they connected with other YMCA leaders from across Ohio, strengthened their leadership skills, and gained an even deeper understanding of the YMCA mission.

We are incredibly proud of their commitment to learning, growing, and investing in themselves so they can continue making an even greater impact on the children, families, and communities we serve every day. Congratulations, Brenna, Lauren, and Aurora!
