We were honored this past Sunday to receive the Michael Berken Peace and Justice Award from the Catholic Commission of Wayne, Ashland & Medina Counties. This award recognizes organizations with an active commitment to social justice in harmony with biblical values; a belief in making positive systemic change in their community through organizing, education, and advocacy; and a spirit of solidarity with the poor, marginalized and vulnerable. Recipients are dedicated to peacebuilding, nonviolence, and serving others.
The awards ceremony included a brunch and reception at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Valley City where our director, Sean Michael Murphy, accepted this award on behalf of People to People Ministries, along with Bill & Cheryl Behrend and Marty & Paul Starkey.
We are incredibly grateful for this recognition and for the many people who continue to support our mission. We look forward to continuing to serve our community and working together to create a more just and compassionate world.

💙 Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Kent! 💙
Kent has been volunteering with People To People Ministries for over 18 years! The 1st year he helped with the Christmas Toy Project, and has worked in the food pantry for the past 17 years. He also served two terms with the Board.
Kent first became involved when his wife June, who worked in the clothing department, asked him to come with to her to PTPM because retirement was not his "cup of tea". After a couple weeks of volunteering, he decided it was a great use of his time.

What keeps him coming back?
"I LOVE helping people. The volunteers are a great group of people. Since I'm retired, I'm also available to fill in as needed. I've been around long enough and have been exposed to most of the programs, so I can help with weekly pick up, deliveries, shopping, mulching..virtually anything that's needed!"

One of Kent's favorite things is picking up weekly food Donations from Marc's & Save-a-Lot. Thanksgiving & the Christmas Toy Project are always highlights. He loves working with clients and helping them get food from the pantry. "It's been great working alongside Dave Boley, sorting/organizing food in the basement as well as our yearly pickups for the Al Van Wi & Post Office food drives!"

❤️ Thank you, Kent, for your commitment, selfless gift of time, and many years of dedicated service. Your willingness to volunteer and give so generously is truly appreciated. Volunteers like you are what keeps PTPM running smoothly.
