Do you have a worn or tattered American flag and aren’t sure how to properly retire it?

Woolrich Cub Scout Pack 66 is proud to offer a Flag Retirement Box located at the Woolrich Community United Methodist Church. 🇺🇸

✨ Flags can be respectfully placed in the box at any time throughout the year.

✨ All collected flags are retired with honor during our annual flag retirement ceremony.

Help us show the proper respect to our nation’s flag by ensuring it is retired with dignity.

Our group of Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bear, and Webelo scouts recently completed a conservation project focused on crafting birdhouses, a key component of the Champions of Nature badge. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Mr. Gary for welcoming the scouts and their families to his woodworking shop, thereby enriching their learning experience.

Today, we held our Pinewood Derby racing event and our Blue and Gold Banquet. The pack had an very fun day of racing. Congratulations to everyone for their hard work in building their cars. Those that won in their den will move on to districts in March.

During our events today, our AOL den ranked up to troop level! Congratulations to those young men and we wish them the best in their future endeavors! Troop 66 is now officially active and we are thrilled!

A special thank you to Dunnstown Fire Company for the wonderful facility and delicious food to help make this day even more special for us!

A few of the Scouts braved the cold this past weekend while tending the fire at the Chestnut Festival, providing smore kits and hot cocoa for attendees and enjoyed ice skating.

In fulfillment of a badge requirement, the Lion and Tiger dens visited the Clinton County Communications Center last week to learn about emergency services access. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone at the Center for their assistance in educating our youngest scouts about community resources.

A big thank you to Kira and Lang from the Goodwill Hose Company Ambulance Association! We were able to get some requirements done and learn about first aid and safety! Not gonna lie, the ambulance was cool to see!

(Full Article) WOOLRICH — Cub Scout Pack 66 of Woolrich, held a solemn flag retirement ceremony on Friday, Oct. 4, 2025, at the Lock Haven Moose Lodge. Pennsylvania State Representative Stephanie Borowicz, who serves the 76th Legislative District, made a special guest appearance in support of the Scouts and their display of patriotism.

Rather than retiring multiple flags, the ceremony focused on one flag brought out of service through the traditional method of separating the stars from the stripes. Each Cub Scout took part in the process, reading historical excerpts and quotes from significant American figures as the flag was respectfully deconstructed and prepared for retirement by fire.

“This ceremony is one of the most meaningful traditions we pass on to our Scouts,” said Cubmaster Ed Hosler. “By learning the history behind the flag and honoring it with their own voices, they gained a deep understanding of what it truly represents.”

The Lock Haven Moose Lodge generously hosted the event, reaffirming the community’s shared commitment to patriotism, education and service.

Last Saturday, Cub Scout Pack 66 supported the Castanea Township community by participating in the parade and distributing fall-themed produce, such as pumpkins, squash, and cabbage, to spectators, and afterwards enjoyed a magical performance with the town's children at the Castanea Fire Hall.
